That's a positive claim, and attracts the burden of proof. Let's see your proof.
I assert I do not believe due to lack of credible evidence. As unlikely as I think it may be, the Abrahamic God may be real. Like Dawkins, I'm about a 6.9/7 sure he is not,but not certain because I cannot prove god does not exist.
Absence of evidence is not proof of the nonexistence of a god of any kind. However, I think it's a fairly strong indicator for the nonexistence of the Abrahamic God with his ascribed [and mutually exclusive] infinite qualities.

I'll continue when the admins can fix my navigation and posting issues. I answered on page 127 but it's not showing up and my navigations are all jacked. As it's obvious that most don't even want to bother with this, maybe it will clear out by then.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

A beginning is necessary which makes god caused. This god had to have a first action or first thought. What caused this first action or first thought?

A beginning is necessary? Yet another positive claim, what if God does not have a cause? It would be the black duck that proves your statement wrong. Also due to the casimer effect there are particles coming into being that appear to have no cause.

Great points Pad. I feel the same way and try to avoid burdening myself by making positive claims about God. I will assert that I have stopped scanning the sky looking for teapots. There might be one, but since there is no proof that it has any effect on my life, I don't worry about it.

You mean the abrahamic god may exist, less all the stories of his actions and dealings......and so how is this the abrahamic god again? You mean a god that didn't create us in a garden with a talking snake, nor banish us out to the wilds, nor flood the earth, nor lead the jews out of egypt, or establish the davidic kingdom? Sure, some god, not the abrahamic god (or any other ever I've ever heard described). We've had to bend the concept of god so hard it's just flat out broken. That's my two cents.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. It's a position you trend towards when you deal with many religious people with many different interpretations, none of which mean anything at all (beyond whatever the faithful have written over or under their theology).

Just because we do not know the cause, does not mean there is none. But, If it did appear with no cause, then so did the universe, no god.
if god is finite, then there is a beginning. If god is infinite, then so would thoughts and actions of this god and that is an impossibility as nothing, not even a god can traverse an infinity, even in thought.
This god's thoughts then must be finite and have a beginning which puts us back at what caused the first thought?

God is defined as being causless so there you have it. There is no way to positively disprove god through logic, much like you can't prove God through logic. Your argument is much like the theist's argument for God that nothing can come from nothing. You are, in fact, stateing that nothing can be without a beginning and applying it to God. You further go on to say that nothing can traverse infinity. So...
Substantiate your positive claims with evidence please.
