I once witnessed two young adults playing hot potato with a beer can full of kerosene at a midnight beach kegger. At one point they thought it was a good idea to set it on fire.

It didn't end well for either of them.

USN ships have EXIT arrows. If the passageway fills with smoke you're supposed to crawl on the floor and follow the arrows to the exit. The EXIT arrows are on the bulkheads, six feet above the deck.

I knew how to find the head, the mess deck, and my engineroom starting from my bunk. If they wanted me to know more than that they should have paid me more.
