i think its russian journalist Alexander Nevzorov. Be an atheist in the country where religion is protected by government and you can be in jail for your atheism is not so easy

That’s a pretty sad list, none of them are likely to age well, and will be forgotten in a generation or so.

But if I were to add two additional people I think should be on the top of list they would be:

Jerry Coyne
and Alex Rosenberg

Rosenberg should make the cut for at the very least composing a thought out alternative worldview to theistic ones. He’s the only one to take materialism to it’s limits, and still pledge his loyalty to it.

Both of them died atheists.

Ok some of my favorite 19th-20th century atheists are Charles Darwin, Igor Sikorsky, Thomas Edison, Karl Popper, Wernher von Braun, Albert Einstein, Nicola Tesla, Sergei Korolev. I don't mind Sam Harris either
