20 years after Nemesis... and Harry Kim is still an ensign...

There is more than one Kim, though; one got sucked out of an airlock in ST:VOY.

I mean what else do French people do except grow and drink wine while gorging on garlic?

First episode: Picard has to go back in time to visit retired Sulu on his rice fields.
You realize it's his families vineyard . The one his bother ran before he burned to death.

Is he supposed to be in the reboot timeline in this show?
Nope takes place 20 after nemesis

"Picard is devastated by the destruction of Romulus".

As much as I like Patrick Stewart, I'm not expecting anything good from this.
The destruction of Romulus is prime cannon

It sure as hell is not! That was part of the abortion of the first Abrams movie.

Vulcan was a hypothesized planet to explain the anomalous precession of Mercury's orbit:

Wikipedia -- Vulcan (hypothetical planet)

Astronomers stopped looking for Vulcan after Albert Einstein did the calculation demonstrating the precession of Mercury's orbit.

Bolded bit never happened.

Generations is official cannon

You may not like it but it occurred in the prime universe and is officially recognized as cannon

Bullshit! It occurred in the Abrams movie, NOT in any 24th century cannon production.

It happened in the prime universe and is acknowledge as cannon and yes it happened in the 24 century regardless of who directed it . Romulus in the prime universe has been destroyed by a super nova .

It did NOT happen in the prime universe!

Any idiot can write a story saying this or that happened in the prime universe. You or I can do this. As far as I'm concerned, Abrams has no more authority than you or I to do this.

This is similar to James Cameron coming out and striking Terminator 3. 4 and 5 from cannon. He was not involved with those abortions and he came out and struck them down.

Gene Roddenberry is no longer around to officially do that but it's obviously something he would do if he were still here. Abrams is not Star Trek any more than Disney is Star Wars.

1. .Yes it did it took place in the same universe as TNG , DS9 and VOYAGER  and the company owns the franchise recognizes it as such .

2. This is all you simply stating a preference sorry the company that owns the franchise says it's cannon. Your free not to like it  but it's cannon

3. Roddenberry made it clear he expected trek to move beyond him and not turn him into the final  word so Roddenberry isn't star trek either . And if we followed your logic then the Dominion War isn't cannon because according to his wife he would have hated it . There goes most of DS9.

From Roddenberry's own mouth . So does Gene Roddenberry have authority

Quote:There's a good chance that when I'm gone, others will come along and do so well that people will say, 'Oh, that Roddenberry. He was never this good.' But I will be pleased with that statement." - Gene Roddenberry, Los Angeles Times TV Times, article "Star Trek's New Frontier", 1993.

Quote:I would hope there are bright young people, growing up all the time, who will bring to [Star Trek] levels and areas that were beyond me, and I don't feel jealous about that at all. [...] It'll go on, without any of us, and get better and better and better, because that's the... that really is the human condition. It's to improve and improve." - Gene Roddenberry, The Star Trek Saga: From One Generation to the Next, 1988.

Quote: This is similar to James Cameron coming out and striking Terminator 3. 4 and 5 from cannon. He was not involved with those abortions and he came out and struck them down.
And really your trusting James Cameron?  You do realize he praised those movies till he got backlash then he started condemning them?

Uh, it’s a cobbled together train wreck of a fiction. You are arguing over which of the broken pieces of glass strewn on the ground belongs to the authentic carriage in the train.

Yes, admittedly so. Still, there is no reason to accept what Abrams says just because he says so.
