I'm going to say that's a poor point to make due to the absolutely insane increase in gun sales / gun manufacturing. The amount of guns manufactured skyrocketed from 3 million in 1985 to 11 million in 2013. The latest research says there are almost 400 MILLION firearms throughout the U.S. (both legally and illegally owned.) I don't have numbers from the 1950s to compare to, but... I have a suspicion it's less lol.

Oddly - there is far less murder.
Think not?
Google "murder rate in us per capita since 1900"
Despite there being far more guns - there are less murders.... Close to half.
And 1/6th since the country began

Well, gum control has very little to do with mass shootings.

You're right there. So is the only option to take away all guns? Okay. I typed "gum". Yuk, yuk.

Nope. But I do think you should looking into getting HubbaBubba out of the hands of underage people.

Oh wait, there is no NHS in the US. Nevermind.
In the US gun ownership is a RIGHT - not a privilege.
We don't tax rights.
That's the problem. You've made it a 'right'.
And yes, you DO tax rights. Do you pay a tax when you buy a gun or ammunition? The fee for your carry permit IS a tax (don't let anyone tell you different).

Since you've self-corrected, I'll play along.
No, the option to take away all guns isn't even worthy of consideration. I've said many times I don't support banning firearms.

Uhhhhh.. We' ll sorta give that to you...
The official word I got ( shop owner) is the tax is actually on the SALE - not the gun...
And the county says it' s a "processing fee".
The handgun registration however, is free...
Go figure.

We don't tax rights? You might want to tell everyone who lived before the 24th amendment that.
