What kind of stupid do you have to be - to believe wearing a uniform somehow makes a person have better judgement?
Somebody who never wore a uniform, I suppose.
You can train muscle memory for trigger control.
You can't train people to make correct decisions under pressure.
Aren't you one of the jokers that jump onboard the train - wanting to fry every cop who shoots somebody?
Seems once again - you're trying to work both sides of the street.

What leads you to believe that the study is bias free?
You agree with the analysis?
Big surprise, huh?
If all studies are biased, what was the point of you asking for a study in the first place?

And why did you respond with A study - when someone else was asked to produce THE study he was paraphrasing?
Are you him? Did you read his mind and go get a link to the study he mentioned?
Nope. You went and found something that more or less fit the bill. You specifically selected a study that bolstered the point which you wanted to defend.
You exercised bias.

We all do.

Give it up OLB!
The issue of firearms IS NOT complicated. Only insecure crybabies like you want it to be complicated.
If America had the same levels of firearm death as say Australia, New Zealand, England, Canada or Japan, NOBODY WOULD BE BITCHING. I would not be bitching.
Our laws are a bullshit patchwork that do nothing but protect the profits of firearm CEOs. "Arm more" isn't working.
If you find the level of firearm violence acceptable you need serious mental help.
Nobody is out to get you. Liberals do not want a fascist state either. We are just sick of our nation being a shooting gallery.

^^^^^^^ SOOO MUCH THIS!
The Roy Rogers myth of the "Good guy" is just that, bullshit. Stranger on stranger interaction with a firearm is rare compared to suicide in the home, domestic violence in the home, or accidental in the home. And like you said, even if you introduce a firearm in a stranger on stranger event, you are more likely to get injured or killed, or injure a bystander than to successfully hit your intended target.
Civilians even with concealed or open carry permits still do not have the constant stress shooting training required that law enforcement has to maintain through out their careers.
And the Dallas police murders are a perfect example as to why public carry is a bad idea. 5 cops were murdered, but it took hours longer to finally spot the killer because of all the insecure morons they had to stop and check to make sure they were not the perp.
Unless you have a uniform or job that requires you to carry in public, leave that shit at home or locked up in your car. I have a CCW but I almost never carry in public. I have 3 guns in total. An AR15, .12 gauge and a glock. All of them are kept AT HOME in a safe. They are solely for self defense and the shooting range. I have never had the desire to take them out in public. I think that's stupid for a plethora of reasons. Most people do it for show and are usually compensating for something when they do.

Produce said study.
Or at least the identity of this nefarious "they" that did said "study".
You' ll have to forgive my skepticism.
I wasn't aware that second guessing hypothetical situations was a valid scientific method.

Wow.
Whatta concept.
Right up there with the sound of one hand clapping....
And - where the hell did you people cook up this "good guy with a gun" bullshit?
You think if some maniac starts shooting up Walmart that I' m going to put my ass on the line for you?
Bwahahaha
Piss on that - I'm putting as much distance between me and the shooting as possible - and will not stick my neck out for anyone but family or real close friends.
Police are under no obligation to stick their necks out for you - you think I am?
You have a pretty big opinion of yourself there..
I'll use my gun - as a last ditch effort if cornered to protect myself.
You do whatever you gotta do.
