I'm currently in the process of writing a new novel whereby Not Trump was elected for a second term and completely destroyed the country to the point where the rest of the world just completely cut off all ties. The setting is the twenty-second century and involves an individual who travels to the broken America that has been shown on the news, and he discovers it is much worse than portrayed.
Futuristic apocalypse style novel.
Sounds interesting.
Careful, though--It could come off as parody.
Paul Ryan might start toting it around and extolling it's virtues like a lovesick puppy.
You could find yourself totally Taylor Swift-ed.

The nobler instincts of the people are airy fantasies that does no good to support. But the baser instincts of people are absolutely concrete enough to fight against.

Gosh, thanks for explaining.

Not sure how optimism shows through by simply (and pointlessly) restating what someone else said, but OK.

I'm not so sure about the homeless drunk bit But yes I'd vote for almost anyone except Trump as well.

There will be pineapple and conch.
It's gonna be awesome.
The talk of moving out of the country because there's a President you don't like is as played out as it is silly. It's cute and all, but it reeks of ignorance. Just being honest.
I actually have plans to move out of the country by the time I'm 35 or 40... depends on how well things go for me within that time frame. Currently looking into different places I think I'd like to live and the larger part of my savings will probably go toward that goal. Though, my reasons have nothing to do with Trump, or Bush, or any other politician. It has more to do with how life is generally lived in the States.

Speaking of ignorance, allow me to explain 'hyperbole' to you: I made an exaggerated, untrue statement to express my lack of confidence and growing apathy in regards to party politics in general; Trump, the nominees, Repubs/Dems, elections...the whole enchilada. The post was wistful musing--not a literal plan of action or an empty threat.
There is no island, ED.
Do you "get" that now?
There's a gold star in it for you, if you do.

If you pick NZ, a few pointers:
-Never disrespect the Maori or Maori culture.
-Learn to love rugby, or at least pretend to.
-Don't expect decent public transport.
-Don't expect quality roads outside the cities.
-Don't litter. Don't even think about it. Not even a fag end or a gum wrapper. Ever.
-If yer on tramps to the wops wops with your jandals and your chilly bin, bring your sunnies and don't forget slip-slop.

Bolded for emphasis. Maybe you don't understand the concept of context.
