RE: Abortion: Pro-Choice or Pro-Life?

Their definition has been considered and rejected. Why wasn't this the end of the entire affair?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Because we chewed up and spit out all the xtians and we are bored.

Would you be happier if we called it a human then? The fetus or embryo being the first stages of the human life cycle? Then we're back to 'life'.

Call it a human embryo or fetus. The best you can do there, while it is a non-viable being outside the womb, is use human as an adjective.

Your belief gives this unborn child a soul at conception. Your values must pertain to the value of the soul and so you make no distinction between conception, embryo, fetus, etc. The problem is that as atheists we do not believe in a soul, so an unborn 'child' does not gain status as a person until birth.
The continuation of life in and of itself does not necessarily have any importance. Bacteria are killed by the billions, microscopic water creatures are killed by the millions, every time we cut down a tree or pull vegetables from the ground or fruit form the trees, kill a cow, kill a chicken, etc., we take lives on a daily basis. Nothing lives without the death of another.
I understand that food and abortion are not the same, but life is.

I'm not even going near my beliefs here IATIA. The reason I call it a human life is because biologists do: completely independantly of religion. Check that out if you don't believe me. It is scientific fact.
Life and human life are very different considerations for us. We take life to live. To me that's justified.

Its the woman's choice, its her body and/or her will. To consider that would be best to have a child born into an adversive environment just for the sanctity of life is ignoring what life really is. The option should always be there for the woman, and her and only her knows what to do. And like most of the time, George Carlin is on the spot:
