Name me an artist who didn't get the fame

Dr. Barranco had a cent strobe tuner in band hall that he only used it for demonstration.  Otherwise, he pointed.  You played.  He looked disgusted.  You adjusted the instrument and focused embouchure if you could.  It's much easier these days to have instant, exact, non-judging feedback.  I still gain inspiration from the memory of Dr. Barranco's leer over his specs when I know I'm off but not as much as as the full body conductor groove he fell into when he realized we didn't entirely suck.

Before tuners were affordable, I would tune to whatever record.  Zep I offered E on the first track.  "In the days of my youth..."  Van Halen tunes a half step down.  But tuning down to C requires heavy strings or a different setup at the bridge, nut, or tension rod.  Otherwise, you get fret noise.

I can handle dissing ABBA, but to question Eddie Van Halen, is blasphemy, well, until they replaced Roth with Hagar.

Assuming your turntable or tape deck was running at the proper speed.....

Um no I am not.

I have a long list of music I like, Including but not limited to RUSH, REO SPEEDWAGON, Pink Floyd, ABBA of course, but also Pat Benatar, Foreigner, Paula Abdul, Living Colour, ect ect.

Margo Price's song "About To Find Out" became my first favorite country song ever. The above posted is now my second.

Not questioning Eddie at all on his tuning.  It's a fact.  He tunes down half a step for whatever reason.  Also, I think Dave had run his course and Sammy brought better vocals and writing talent to the band.  I still love the Dave albums except for Diver Down.  Check out what happens when Sammy replaces Eddie.  Love Eddie, but he's no Satriani.

I had a fancy Realistic from Radio Shack with a speed pot and a strobe disc.  The trouble with that was my vision.  I can hear better than I can see.

If you do not defend Roth, then you are a child.... SEE what I did there?

Just kidding. In reality like many bands they had their fights and Roth got kicked out. i won't slam Hagar, but between the two, David is my pick.

*shrug*  If her voice impresses you, then you're easily impressed.  It's a nice voice - she's in tune and on key, but it's nothing remarkable.

THIS is a remarkable voice:

Ok, you got me, but you are still an asshole, as right as you are pointing this out.

The worst part of this post is that I am in turn, going to relay this to my best friend form Olklahoma and he will most likely agree with you.

That was awesome BORU!

And again, an example of of someone whom deserves more than attribution to superstition.

I don’t understand what you mean by ‘deserves more than attribution to superstition’. Can you explain, please?
