Quote:A common response from Christian philosophers, such as Norman Geisler or William Lane Craig, is that the paradox assumes a wrong definition of omnipotence. Omnipotence, they say, does not mean that God can do anything at all but, rather, that he can do anything that is possible according to his nature. The distinction is important. God cannot perform logical absurdities; he cannot, for instance, make 1+1=3. Likewise, God cannot make a being greater than himself because he is, by definition, the greatest possible being. God is limited in his actions to his nature. The Bible supports this, they assert, in passages such as Hebrews 6:18, which says it is "impossible for God to lie."

Apparently you're not even Wikipedia smart. I could go on, citing Aquinas for one, but as noted, a) this only applies to a subset of the Christian gods and so leads to another non sequitur, and b) as noted, arguing with you is a waste of time.

Well, that's not very Christian of you.

I am not a Christian. I am a cut above. A Gnostic Christian.

When you know the difference, you will be ready to open your own atheist church and join the atheist elites and brightest.

"that he can do anything that is possible according to his nature."

If god can put the need of the few ahead of the many, he can put the needs of the many ahead of the few.

I cannot argue with those you quote, so prove me wrong with your words, or I will just quote a bunch of garbage right back at you.

What she’s trying to explain to you, which you seem to fail to grasp, is that it simply isn’t possible for you to know that God ISN’T saving the maximal number of people.

When you resort to abuse, you’ve lost the argument.

It’s more than slightly stupid of you to demand quotes from mainstream Christian theology, then to reject them when they’re provided.

You asked that Angrboda supply you with quotes that support her position. When she did so, you dismissed them and called them ‘garbage’.

Could we possibly build some sort of railing round you? Nothing elaborate, just as a warning to keep sensible people from getting too close.

God's an authoritarian capitalist, always has been. Read your bible!

So Yahweh is horrible and all that. And? I fail to see how the Gnostic God is any better.
