Chauvin Murder Trial

RE: Chauvin Murder Trial
Logic, reason and evidence based analysis take a back seat for most people when there's virtue signalling that they are absolutely NOT racist to be done. Is it my turn now? Chauvin is the scum of the earth and guilty as sin! Hang the fucker!

How can you think he will get a fair trial when so many people - like yourself - are convinced he is guilty without considering ALL of the State' s evidence...Just one video is all they need.

Or are you an excepption.to the norm - and everyone else buys into " innocent til proven guilty"?

How many videos/photos of the incident do you need?  Would it help if there was an aerial view from a drone?

Has there been a video/photo shown that disputes the events.  Like his knee was really on Floyd's butt?

Will he get a fair trial?  That depends on which side you ask...and you know that.  If he were to be found innocent, there would be people raising hell.  If he is found guilty, the appeals will start.  That's how the law works here.

All of them - that are addmitted as evidence.

Plus all other evidence.

Is that wrong?

And if more videos are presented, will you believe they haven't been altered in any way?  Why would it take this long for them to surface unless they were hidden on purpose or edited?  It's not like the old days...things like video/photo evidence is instant now.

It's a trial...everyone isn't going to be pleased.   Both sides are going to play the game as has been scripted.  It's going to depend on the jurors and who puts on the best, most convincing show.

RE: Chauvin Murder Trial
According to the BBC yesterday Floyd at first point blank refused to get OUT of his "friend's" car when requested to do so by police, for a long time, yet then refused to get INTO the police car, claiming "claustrophobia"....was the interior of car B much smaller than that of car A I wonder...

In a world such as ours today, rewriting what actually happened is a matter of protocol for those in positions of power.

Going out on a limb there bub.....

Evidence is admitted according to rules of evidence...

As a juror you need to simply accept evidence as given. They don' t need amatuer detectives on the jury second guessing evidence.

I've seen enough courtroom dramas to know that the defense, the criminal, always goes free with a good enough lawyer and an ignorant jury.

But they are people who are going to be influenced by which side puts on the better show.  Don't fool yourself into thinking it's as cut and dried as you seem to think it is.

If it doesn't fit...hmmm...did OJ ever find the "real" killer?

RE: Chauvin Murder Trial
Murder is a tough charge to beat in the US. If you find yourself charged with it...regardless of whether or not you committed the crime, you can expect that the prosecution is sitting on a case that will convince a jury.

In this case we appear to be worried that the prosecution is sitting on a particularly damning video. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that they are. Defense, however, is not sitting on video or any other evidence which they believe will convince a jury that the prosecutions case is faulty. They'd have lead with that, and not a plea deal to murder.

If anyone is hoping to be able to bank on the preexisting opinions of jurors beyond what can be screened out by selection, it's the defense. They may already be spending their time on crafting an appeal.
