I don’t @Huggy Bear. Why should we call the small number of police killings of unarmed black men a serious problem when there’s just so few of them compared to everyone else?
Keep on clownin.’ 🤡
Quote:It’s not the number of police killings that's the problem, it's the fact that they rarely get punished. The more police get punished, the less likely they are to shoot unarmed folks, see how that works?
No shit, Huggy, lol. Yes, you accurately described the problem of police killings of unarmed black men. I think it’s the only thing you’ve gotten right in this thread so far. Now to explain me why you think what you said was in any way a rubuttal or a distinction with a difference, lol.
Never mind, I know that’s too complicated for your two brain cells. Let’s try it this way:
Based on the stats you’ve been spoon-fed, do you believe that violence, discrimination, and oppression among the black/trans female community is a serious problem that should be addressed? This is a simple yes or no question.
You talking about the stats from an LBGT source that give absolutely zero information on how the survey was conducted? What was the sample size? what area was the survey taken in?
You want me to accept the numbers on face value? is that it?

You don't pay attention do you.
I called you out on a question of why you should care . This not a technical question, but one of principle. Why should I care about X Y OR Z------? It's not about methodology nor opinions based on stats.
That's all I have to say to you on this is topic.

It was a yes or no question. 😬 If your answer is “no, because I think the stats are inaccurate” then show your work. You don’t get to just blanket assume that stats you don’t happen to like, or that disagree with your pre-conclusions are flawed and useless unless someone can prove to you otherwise. See: “burden of proof.”

Well..I get insistence. There are things that matter so much to me, for example... that being wrong about some fact won't alter that fact. At that point, though, it would seem to serve the purpose that a person can accept being wrong about a thing and still maintain that sense of importance regarding another thing.
Just to use a concrete example..... Dave chappelles trans friend story is pretty great. The guy is sitting on a mark twain award, we can give him credit as a satirist, as a humorist. My favorite part is, on a surface reading, perhaps the most hateful. The line "boundaries bitch, I'm transphobic" is brilliant. Its uncomfortable in the same way that tom sawyer or the war prayer would have been to audiences of their own time. Its probably true that, beset on all sides by opposition...some friendly fire comes out of the trans camp. Nothing that huggy so insistently got wrong needs be right for that to be true. That one person can end a rough story with the comment "I knew your father, and he was a hell of a woman"...or casually mention that it takes one human person to recognize another human persons experience is bubbling right there at the surface of outrage. Are there times when the lgbtq community and other communities which might otherwise be aligned and have similar experiences are at cross purpose? Probably. Even if that isn't down to klansmen bankrolling the movement.
Sure, and I’m not claiming or insisting otherwise. I like Chappell, and I think he makes several good points. My only objection is his continuous insistence on denying trans identities. That’s it. But Huggy saw that objection as an opportunity to cry wolf about another non-related issue that he ended up being flat wrong about. I think there’s a lot of discussion to be had about racial conflict and real pain amongst and within the LGBTQ community. It just doesn’t seem like Huggy wants to talk about any of it. He just wants to…keep not liking trans people, because Reasons.

Here's the overall report and here's the supplemental report (released with the help of the National Black Justice Coalition) that focuses specifically on the black people in the survey. Sample size total: 6456. Black sample size: 389. What area was it taken in? All across the USA. These answers aren't that difficult to find. If you can find a study on the hardships black trans folk do or do not suffer with a larger sample size, be my bloody guest.

I think… I think, his position is, “those trans peeps can fuck off because, gross,” and he’s spent like, 25 pages trying to say it without actually saying it. But that’s just me.
