Ziggy and Quinn tonight...my bookends. Karm's in bed with husband. His princess requires more comfort.

Maybe one day one shall get a pet. But until then.

Nice photos.

I've been very despondent lately. A recent snowfall and watching my dog roll around in it having fun really gave me a boost.

Glad that cheered you up. I used to have a dog that would stick his nose into the snow and run through the yard leaving a little trail like he was a mini snowplow.

When I was a kid we had a black lab. One bit of entertainment was to throw snowballs to him. I now realize that was probably kind of mean. He would catch them (like he would most any ball) and they would fall apart when he bit down and then he was confused looking for the ball. But it kept Shally and me entertained.

Here's a picture from a short time ago from my cat Tender (named by my daughter, Isabella, who thought that he looked like a McDonald's chicken tender at birth), who did not recognize his fraternal twin, Fire.  I thought that there was going to be a fight, but when they got within smelling distance, things quickly went back to relaxation mode.

Tender also appears in an Area 69 post.

Nope - not another picture of Karm...just happy to announce that the vet doesn't think her heart murmur is bad enough to start her on meds. I just have to keep watching her and report to him if various things happen.

I have my dad's old stethoscope so I will be listening to her heart and lungs too.

Good news

I apologize for not remembering, how old is she?

She's 10 - which is getting up there for a Cavalier, unfortunately.  The heart murmur was detected a few years ago and held steady for a couple years before getting worse...it's holding at a grade 3/4 now.  She gets around pretty well and has a good appetite but is deaf as a fence post.  The boys take care of her and she's learned some signs.  And we still talk to her like she can hear us...smh.

My boys (6 and 4) still aren't showing signs of heart issues...thankfully, as it's a common affliction in the breed.

Good for her, I think it's 3/6, might be better than you think at 10 years.

Best of luck to her.
