I see.  And would it reduce violence in general?  Or just for those who own the "smart gun"

What a stupid question. Of course it wouldn’t reduce ‘violence in general’. It is intended to reduce a few specific kinds of violence - shootings committed with stolen guns, the seven year old finding daddy’s pistol and shooting her sibling in the face, that sort of thing. If every handgun in existence were replaced with a smart gun tomorrow, it would have zero effect on domestic violence, protests that turn violent, bar fights and so on.

You should get yourself tested - I think you may be afflicted with terminal stupidity.

We don't trust idiots who think their right to have a fucking fetish and pretend they are heros in some fictional movie, and the rest of us have to tolerate the volume of violence because of their fetish. It doesn't fucking matter to the right wing nutjobs what we offer up to reduce firearm violence. They say no to everything even if it is something they claim they want.

What the hell are you talking about?  smart guns?

You don't know what a smart gun is? Maybe you should read up on them. Here, let me use the google thing for you: https://www.google.com/search?q=smart+gu...e&ie=UTF-8

It is a thing. Now, if we mandated them going forward, and at the same time prohibited the transfer of dumb guns, we would come to a point where most if not all guns are smart guns.

Now, a large number of America's firearms homicides are committed by stolen guns. I hope it's apparent what benefit smart guns would provide to combat this aspect of firearms violence. Another thing is that it would also enable stricter control of weapons sales. If we made the guns such that you'd have to take it to an FFL holder to reprogram, you could ensure that even in private sales, a background check is performed. Another benefit would be that cops could not have their guns taken and used by criminals in a struggle.

So yeah, you should read up on them. Over the long term, they could provide some amelioration of America's gun problem.

Like you've never heard of old ammo or misfires with dumb guns, right?

There's a lot of stuff you don't seem aware of. A little reading might be called-for.

In my opinion, such an Ammendment would narrowly restrict the definition of a "militia" to exclude nearly everyone.

Who would it exclude\include?  In other words, who would have the guns?

In contrast, I have a very good knowledge of these things, likely more than anyone you know...... I just want to hear you out with respect so I can understand you point of view.

I agree that many have a fetish for guns, and many have this complex of being a hero.

To your view on rights...................I am not so sure that we would agree on this point................I for one do not believe that we have "rights" like so many think.  It really boils down to this:  you have the "ability" to do whatever you want, until someone or something decides that they dont want you to have the "ability".  The idea of a "right" is based upon what side of the arguement you are on.  Rights are ideas, and not tangible things.  Do you agree?

I will also add, that I would like to reduce gun violence aswell, but I am not sure that violence will be diminished as a whole.

This is half assed olive branch dodging. We have the highest volume of firearm deaths among our wealthy nation ally peers. Why? Because a small minority of fucking assholes are holding our nation hostage. There is a "right" in this argument and fuck you for claiming it is point  view ..... PTSD is a very real thing and not simply an "idea". Turning our society into a shooting gallery has a very negative effect on health, and mental health especially. That isn't a "point of view".

"I am not sure violence will be diminished as a whole." <----- Siri gibberish translator " Other bad things happen so lets not do anything at all."

I agree, violence in general will not go down with your bullshit attitude. With the money we spend cleaning up after every one of these events, could be spent on conflict resolution skills and critical thinking skills being taught in public schools, that could certainly help reduce violence of all kinds. Not making firearms like candy could help. Not handing firearms out like candy could help. Lots of things we could be doing but cant because a fucked up selfish few.

Military & police only. Sportsmen could use guns from their local gun clubs under strict regulations and control.

WOW!  I am being respectful, but you have you go all the way to "FUCK YOU".  And you want to reduce violence in society?

If someone has a gun to your head, and tells you not do move lest they shoot, you may have the right, and the ability, but no real choice was my point.  IE, the one with the gun has the power to allow you to have whatever rights you think you have.

Who do you think is to blame for 99% of the gun violence in this country?  People like me?  (USA)

I never said anything about PTSD not being a real thing, but true PTSD is not a common as most think, most use it as an excuse........are you one of those?
