That frequently happens in wartime.  Even the United States turned into a military dictatorship during the Big One.  And everyone was on board.  Time for democracy later when people aren't getting blown up while they sleep.

Well, hey, people getting blown up in their sleep is just something that happens in war, right? We can put up with it for a while.

For example Ukraine has been bombing civilian areas of the Donbass since 2014. Since that time, the US has exercised veto power over Ukrainian elections, Zelensky has ended civil rights, and the IMF and BlackRock have taken over the Ukrainian economy. And none of those actions have stopped civilian deaths in the Donbass. Everybody here is on board with that, right?

If you hate people being blown up go talk to Russia about it instead of blaming Ukraine for not simply rolling over and letting itself be conquered.

Quote:For example Ukraine has been bombing civilian areas of the Donbass since 2014.
Just leave out the part about Russian-backed and Russia- Funded terrorist groups led by people directly linked to Putin's inner circle in that region... Dodgy

Quote:Since that time, the US has exercised veto power over Ukrainian elections,
No, they don't. Not allowing parties that are Russian puppets to run in elections is not the US having veto power over Ukrainian elections. Blocking those parties was done by Ukraine, not the US.

Quote: Zelensky has ended civil rights,
No, he hasn't. Not letting Russian disinformation agents run free during a war with Russia is not ending civil rights.

Quote: and the IMF and BlackRock have taken over the Ukrainian economy.
No, they have not. Asking Ukraine to pay back a loan they freely took is not" taking over the economy"

Quote: And none of those actions have stopped civilian deaths in the Donbass.
Deaths that are 100% Russia's fault for creating and funding terrorist groups in that region and then launching an illegal invasion of Ukraine. But you don't give a damn about civilian deaths as you essentially repeat the bullshit of the people currently responsible for the lion's share of those deaths.

Quote:Everybody here is on board with that, right?
With Ukraine getting ride of foreign agents that try and hand it over to Russia, Dealing with terrorist groups in its own borders, and Paying back its loans. Yes i am for all that. You by contrast seem content to let Putin do whatever he wants and content to let Ukraine fall into his hands.

There are many voice who are saying that Putin and his entourage must be put on trial for all of these crimes. And there are many Ukrainians who believe this is possible. Besides, if there is a peace treaty with Russia, There must be reparations to Ukraine and I personally think the Russian Military Arsenal must be a part of that deal.

Unfortunately, none of that is going to happen.

Serbian leaders like Milosevic were once seen as untouchable too. So nothing is impossible.

+ I think this guy was simply born in the wrong generation. If he had been born in the late 70’s early 80’s I would have given him a copy of Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 and in this day he would have better things to do than bombing people on New Years Eve. Smile

Yeah, what is wrong with Ukrainians when they don't want to live under the rule of a guy who is trying to kill them? I know what it is: it is the western woke culture that is telling them not to trust a guy just because he is trying to starve them, freeze them and blast them to pieces.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Putin will rather be exiled like Idi Amin or Pol Pot.

Gosh, what also happened in the Donbass in 2014?  Oh, that's right:

Declaring the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR, respectively), armed Russian-backed separatist groups seized government buildings throughout the Donbas
