Very high likelihood it was Russia shooting their own drone down in a staged attack. But can we at least agree that if it was Ukraine, this was very stupid, and that if this was done with drones supplied to Ukraine by the west, then we need to re-think supplying these things if this is where it gets us. Russia should get to keep the pro-Russian parts of Ukraine, and Ukraine should get the rest, while they agree to never join NATO. Reach a deal for peace. Remember, China said their red line for arming Russia would be if there were attacks by Ukraine or the West in Russia itself.

See, that's the thing. I'm perfectly fine with ukraine not wanting to negotiate with terrorists no matter what. To you, maybe, ukraine is a footnote in how the west fails™ when it's not guarding whiteness and warcriming like a common russia...but, to me, things being rough is basically par for the course, not a reason to reverse course.

So, you went from making grand claims months back about how much Russia is getting their ass kicked and they can do nothing right and they will be forced to give up, but now you're backtracking and calling the situation "rough" without actually backtracking fully by admitting that you were wrong and you miscalculated. I, on the other hand, will openly admit that I know far less than you do about warfare in general, but I remained agnostic months ago, and said I was unsure how things would end up with Ukraine, but I made the point that Ukraine can't take these types of losses to their fighting force forever, because it's just not sustainable. The Pentagon papers appear to show that I was correct. Maybe don't be so sure of yourself all of the time and try to take more of a fence sitting position when things are not so clear, Nudge, and then you won't have to backtrack when you get things oh so wrong.
