FWIW, Harris has not been voted the worst Vice president in history, this simply isn't true. It was trump who claimed this, and it's another lie. From 1993 to the present, Harris ranked 11th out of 18.
Who she may or may not have slept with is none of my business, why would I care as long as it was consensual. Trump on the other hand was found guilty by a jury in a civil suit against him for sexual abuse. He Also spent almost year (307 hours) of his first tenure as president playing golf.
"In 2017, Trump spent three months’ time — 91 days — on the golf course. In 2018, Trump spent 75 days playing golf. In 2019, Trump spent 87 days on a golf course and in 2020, Trump spent 54 days playing golf — even during the deadliest year for the U.S. since World War II which featured 291,557 fatalities. "
CITATION
His handling of the Covid pandemic saw the US suffer 3531 deaths per million, ranked among 229 sovereign states globally, that is 222nd, a staggering indictment by any objective standard.
CITATION
Trump's foreign policy "broadly speaking" is nationalist, and isolationist, but the opinion of longstanding advisers who would know, suggest he is largely clueless about foreign policy, and showed a startling inability and unwillingness to learn during his first tenure.
"Mark Milley, the country’s top military official during the last two years of Mr. Trump’s presidency, privately told the journalist Bob Woodward that Mr. Trump is a “fascist to the core”"
"Mr. Trump’s national security aides repeatedly described him as a danger to the country and to democracy. Many cited the Jan. 6 violence and his reaction to it as evidence of how he posed a threat to the country’s laws and norms. Others predicted a return to the White House would damage the country’s national security."

He was talking to an arab (I don’t know where he is from originally). He said Donald won. The arab guy said, Yes, this is great. The russian guy said that the war with Ukraine will end.
****The arab guy said, Yes, what is great is that now that the warmongers are gone (I am assuming he means the democrats), the war will end (Ukraine) and the war in Israel will end as well. It won’t happen immediately but eventually, it will end.****
Internally, I was laughing. Apparently, this arab guy doesn’t know Donald’s policies.
Joe Biden was giving Israel full support since Hamas randomly killed a lot of citizens. Eventually, he did not like the fact that Israel is getting rid of Gaza, uses a pager technique to harm random people in Lebanon, bombs Iran, they keep getting on the news and saying they use advanced technology to locate these terrorists and do precision strikes and views of Gaza shows no standing buildings.
Donald Trump has won and says that he gives carte blanche, do whatever you feel is necessary to Israel.
He also has moved the US embassy to Jerusalem during his first run as president and also claiming that Jerusalem belongs to Israel which has pissed off all muslim nations.
Not to mention his failed and illegal attempt to ban travel from Muslim countries.

All boots on the ground shooting wars end eventually, one way or another. Some American or another will be the president of the USA when it happens, as long as we're still doing that. And whoever that president is at the time, will try to find a way to take credit for it, even if they didn't help at all or actually made it worse; because that's politics.

Intolerance via party association is still intolerance.

To be honest, I'm rather ignorant when it comes to political affairs.
So, my first question is: how do the checks and balances fit in order to prevent a leader dictatorship?
Second, how do the intelligence agencies fit into preventing such a disaster to the country?

They don't. Generally speaking dictators tend to undermine Democratic norms through Democratic means. One example is through stacking the judiciary with loyalists and judges sympathetic to the dictator to be. We can see this in Trump appointing very conservative judges through a lackluster vetting process such as the vetting process in the Kavanaugh case. In Trump's current term he is set to appoint more such judges, likely including a Supreme Court justice. Trump has already asked for the ability to make recess appointments to departments and judgeships. While not illegal, this would further strip any checks that the Senate nominating process places on his appointments. At least one candidate for Senate majority leader has said he would agree to it.
A good example is current dictators like Victor Orban and arguably Benjamin Netanyahu. Both acquired power legally by undermining the constraints upon them legally.

Scrotus ruled it was illegal, when obama did it. It won't be for trump, obviously, just another example to your point about the inadequacy of our supposed checks and balances.
