Christians: A Question
January 2, 2012 at 11:58 am
Chip, you are exempt from this poll, as I already know your opinion on it.
I realize this is something of an appeal to popularity. However, I am trying to establish what the common Christian feeling on Jesus' sacrifice was, so bear with me.

I think my favorite answer on the sacrifice issue is the atheist's (literal) translation of John 3:16:
John 3:16 - God sacrificed himself to himself, to save us from a place he made himself.
Just perfect.

I notice that so far the results show 100% in favour of option one. I don't think we should read too much into that though, since there's only been one vote.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Yeah, it will probably take time, as we have fewer Christians than atheists, but I am determined to get an answer. Even five saying option one would disprove an irrational statement.
