Awesome, they did the same thing to us in middle school.

They showed us multiple propaganda films about how Kiss and Def Leppard and a multitude of others were actively employed by the devil. Scared the shit outta everybody until we were old enough to know better.

As a Christian I had been round and round that issue. Over the years I asked many people why it was bad to listen to rock n roll and I got many many stupid answers. I'll list my favorites below:

Qu: what is so evil about Rock n roll?
A: "That druid beat" (he meant to say that the music was evil because it had drums in it and the drums had a certain occult beat to it.)
A: Evil satanic music companies put demons into the music.
QU: "How" (I ask)?
A: "Backward masking". Or for some, subliminal messages when played forward.
Qu: "Well if you don't listen to the music backward you don't hear the subliminal message so it's ok."
A: Your brain can figure it out (this is a paraphrase I don't remember exactly what the guy said).
Qu: "How?'
A: silence (they couldn't answer this question)
Another way demons got into the music was through satanic ritual which begs a lot of questions because records are mass produced. If this were true there would be a lot of very busy satanists around, possibly employed full time.
A: "If the heart of the one producing the music (the artist) is evil then the music he or she produces is evil."
Qu: "Then why do you say classical music is not demonic? Some composers had really wild lifestyles."
A: No answer.
A: (my favorite) It's a conspiracy by the evil music companies to warp the minds of young people. Their goal is to (essentially) take over the world. Disclaimer: This last bit is a paraphrase, not a direct quote, of a lot of similar sermons.

I eventually gave up and decided that if the music (not the genera but each song and/or band) was too crude to listen to then I shouldn't listen to it.
