Will Religion and Athiesm ever compromise?

RE: Will Religion and Athiesm ever compromise?
The only answer is secularism. This isolates religious belief from governance.
If people want to believe myths, I feel sorry for them. But their beliefs must not be forced on others.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

People can believe whatever the hell they want.

Just as long as they keep their bullshit out of our laws and classrooms.

I wasn't sure how to entitle the thread, but here goes
I really dont feel that Religion could really disprove the scientific discoveries in the universe, evolution, natural selection etc though some of them are theories, they are pretty convincing. It seems like they have picked out bits that could fit with their beliefs. They have an overwhelming spiritual element to their belief system. Do you feel that we could ever 'meet' and respect that we 'think and feel' differently?
Personally I dont believe in there being a 'maker' or 'desginer' for life, there is too much evidence against that, I mean who made God?

Never.

I would not complain if we could imprison everybody who believes in religion.

If the athiesm movement ever grows large enough to become a national standard in any country rest assured there will be war. Theist are raised to believe that large amounts of unbelievers are devil worshipers or the army of the antichrist.

If 50% of the population is an army, fighting against the other 50% of kneeling and praying people, then I anticipate a short war...Devil

No decent scientist lets his belief in God alter the way he approaches matters of science. Many people have zero interest in science, and especially zero interest in physics. These people aren't interested in knowing about things related to physics. Just like plenty of people aren't interested in history, and only want to know about the present.

No decent scientist lets his/her belief come in the way of how he/she
approaches matters of science.

I don't think atheism and religion can ever compromise really. I think that eventually society will become secular, at different rates in different countries, and the various religions will simply ebb away and become new things, as they always have throughout history. The mistake religious people make is in believing that they have hit on "the answer" in their particular faith. Every faith is simply the next evolution of what came before and will eventually become simply another interesting chapter in the history books, like all the religions before them.

Never under estimate over zealous people, they can be driven to live life for one small goal. The nazi's were zealots and they were a fierce foe.
