FAAH, why should anyone believe that your stories are "true" as as you put it. They sound fairly ridiculous, you gotta know that. And please spare me the "you don't have to believe it, but it happened" spiel. You are proclaiming them as truth here, so you really ought to be able to back it up somehow.

I have a magic eight ball that does the same thing.
Quote:on the 10 of October 2012 the LORD prevented us from making a bad financial decision. Me and my wife had found a house that we thought could be a good investment for our future. But our pastor prayed about it and felt that it was not going to be a good investment. So I prayed that if it was not a good investment God would get the bible to open randomly to James 4:13-15, otherwise the bible would open to the verse in Mal 3:10 about God blessing our finances. I opened my bible on the computer and moved my hand quickly and randomly, first selecting a book of the bible, then a verse, all without looking where I was choosing, and it opened to James 4:13-15 so I knew that God did not want us to go ahead. Jas 4:13-15 “Some of you say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to some city. We will stay there a year, do business, and make money." Listen, think about this: You don't know what will happen tomorrow. Your life is like a fog. You can see it for a short time, but then it goes away. So you should say, "If the Lord wants, we will live and do this or that."

Am I missing something you here? Did the house fall down the following day was there a fire? where is the saving you money coming in?

Quote:So with one try, the bible randomly opened to the very verse I asked God about. That is a 1/54248 chance. Even if this happened once it would be quite amazing a 0.0000184338593127857248193481787347 chance, but it has happened multiple times 5 times recorded on my website. that is a random possibility of 0.0000000000000000000000000000039237164186164436897300633262929

You do know that you are just projecting your opinions on these things and that they actually mean buttkiss don't you?

Quote:Also just with the general miracles I listed about the guy being stabbed. That has a high improbability, yet it has happened in a similar way more than once.

You went to a part of town were stabbings are common and met a stabbed man gotcha.

I don't think you know what the scientific method is.

Sorry for the confusion. I did not choose two verses then randomly select from them. That is a 1/2 chance a 50%/50% chance and there is nothing amazing about that. I just said if it lands on either of those two, but I used the whole bible to do the random selection. I selected from 54248 verses not 2 verses.

I have an online bible called E-Sword that you can select a book of the bible, then a chapter, then a verse. So I did not look at what I was selecting, so randomly selected using the mouse, a book, chapter and verse. Just by quickly moving my hand over the list.
Hey I love God he is awsome.

Well if I look at my experiences from a scientific perspective, I won't do the maths but you are welcome too. If you read my website you would have seen that I randomly open my bible to get verses from God to give me guidence. As an example read the following story off my site:...

So with one try, the bible randomly opened to the very verse I asked God about. That is a 1/54248 chance. So basically, (as I suspected) all you're saying is that (for you) a miracle (or a supernatural occurrence) is just a highly improbable event. Is that correct?

You do know that there are numerous counter-examples to your rare occurrences, don't you? These claims are not consistent. Have you ever thought about talking to Christians who did the same thing (or something very similar) and got negative results? Why is it that you assumed the bible was the word of God? You do know that Muslims say this kind of thing as well, don't you?

For a start not all Christians have a close walk with God, God must allow a miracle. There are various miracles God has not allowed me to do in my life. You can't say just because not all Christians, can do what I do it is not God. I know a friend personally who has prayed for paralized people and seen them 100% healed. I have prayed for paralized people and not seen them healed. Although I have healed one woman instantly of a long term back problem. If you want to see scientifically documented cases of divine healing go to http://www.wcdn.org/wcdn_eng/case/divine_case_e.asp

As for Muslums doing the same thing, I have talked to Muslums for years and only ever heard one claim of the divine, and it was nothing amazing. But if you have evidence of such things I am interested to know. But as a Christian I know there is a devil, and he can do miracles as well. I just choose to believe God. Who would want to be a Muslum anyway the Koran says men can beat their own wives, and kill unbelievers, both things I am sure God has no pleasure in.
