Who cares if its the actual date or not? I do think jesus existed, but that is to the extent I believe of him, he was just a regular guy. As for the other claims unto him, there is no way to tell what is made up and what actually happened. As for the 25th, it doesent matter that much, it could be any day and it would be just the same, and anymore, the buisnesses have stolen its theological meaning and replaced it with greed. A good way to make lots of money.

Now, you forget Jesus was a prophet who was god-ified 200 years after he died. If anything he would be grouped with other prophets, like Mohammed, Aberham, etc...

I never said what he did was real, I think that is made up bullshit, but I do think he was a person who existed, perhaps even the part about him being wise or telling stories that stated the obvious but did so in a way that sounded smart was not true. Perhaps he was a fat old drunkard who did not get executed by the Romans in his 30's. Mabey he invented the surfboard so people thought he walked on water. I don't know.

Yes, and I think it is more likely that somebody exadurated some guy, and that got exadurated over and over, than somebody completely invented Jesus.

I am of the opinion that there probably was a real Jesus person who was a charismatic leader. Similar in fact to David Koresh or Charles Manson. He exerted many of the same influences and shared goals. They both even modeled their brands of evil control on the JC man.

Its amazing the effect one charismatic figure can have on the world, would Nazi germany have become a fact if it wasn't for Hitler, or would Russia have become communist if it wasn't for Lennin, would Macedonians have conquered Persia and the Hindu Kush if not for Alexander?

Charismatics can be the driving force for big changes in civilisation, unfortunately most of the time in the wrong direction.
