Even if there were some logical reason to believe it - and it doesn't contradict the proven, observable reality - I'll take it into serious consideration.
I am not that sure I can take seriously any religion anymore, but I will do my best, to take that "bias no religion is true", when studying religions or when coming to a debate with someone of a religion. I'm relatively certain no religion is true that I've come across of at least.
It seems one thing that religious people emphasize is that if you open your heart to God and the truth, you will find the path. I myself have a lot of want for divinity to exist and hope there is a path of ascension, which implies I am open to it, so I'm on the right track according to the religious people.
One things religions, in general, do well, is make you feel good, comfortable, etc... But that doesn't mean I'm going to accept someone's account of the divine for certain, until that divinity actually shows it self to me and (this 'and' is very important) to everyone else. As long as it's showing itself to a very select uneducated minority of the population, I'm not impressed.
luckly I didn't have to chose because I was forced to, like being popped up the pooper, or some other abuse. or being told I can't do whatever I want to whoever I want to. That didn't make me mad.
I got to choose on my own. I am atheist because I got to look, with some education, at the traits of their god. Based on listing what we see vs. what they claim. Their claim is not reasonable. RE: Why are you atheist?

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
I'm an atheist because there is no god. I feel there is no substantial evidence for a god or gods. Likewise there is no "proof" that there is not a god. So basically, I'm an atheist because I feel strongly enough in my belief of no god that I don't need a fallback plan for when I die. (Heaven) Some people just can't handle that when their life is over, their life is over, therefore they "solve" their problem by believing in a higher power who will grant them a cushy "afterlife" full of everything they have ever wanted. I do not fear god or death. I do fear dying, but we all do. Its a natural reaction to everything you've ever known, enjoyed, and loved coming to an abrupt halt. Anyway, back to the point here. I'm an atheist because I believe there is no god and therefore I am not afraid of what may happen to be because of my disbelief.

I would not necessarily say there is no god but science makes all kinds of room for god but Da herd be to stupid to see it.
I heard a Astro Physicist make a statement that leaves way more room for god than any of the religious text I have read. He stated we call god what we do not understand and we do not understand alot. There are alot of holes in what we see and observe so we really do not know what we are dealing with. There is all kinds of room for something other than what see here with parrallel universe's, who is to say the missing dark matter couldn't be spirits or souls?. The vast size of the heavens it self, other universes and so forth. Everything is alive in science and has motion and at it's core so much more than what we can just see on the suface with our eye's. It just takes some digging. And to be at this point where we can figure alot of this out is great. Religion is a bunch of ignorrant fuck's that will not educate themselves, those people to me are shallow although some are really nice people just not real creative thinkers. OK lets all except Jesus for our savior, do you feel better now. OK suit up and lets go kill some people and take all their land and resources because they do not think like us. It amazes me how dumb Da herd be.
I didn't believe any of the god claims to be true. The end.

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
