In Case You Needed Further Proof...

Actually, I can and do generalize. And yes, there are bigots everywhere you go, but it is down right pervasive in some areas.
I will judge a person based on their own merits, I will judge a people by the laws they pass and the way they treat those who are different from them. So yes, I do consider myself better than some people, and by better I mean enlightened. (You sit in front of the greatest tool ever invented for enlightening yourself, if you choose not to use it for that purpose, your gonna have a bad time) Of course I answer to Condescending Prick, Bore, and Self Righteous Asshole. At least that's what my friends call me. If I learned anything from reading Hitchens and Jacoby, I have learned that regardless of how you were raised, or the environment in which you come from, you are responsible for your own views. No excuse for bigotry in the 21st century.
Stand before the people you fear and speak your mind - even if your voice shakes.

Seems like common sense to me. Yes?

Maggie Kuhn (April 7, 2013 at 5:03 am)Godschild Wrote:MLK Jr. was introduced to the concept of nonviolent resistance by Bayard Rustin, who was a Quaker. Rustin was also instrumental in the organization of the 1963 March on Washington, where MLK gave his famous, "I have a dream" speech. This credit often goes to A. Philip Randolph, because, you see, Rustin was an open homosexual, a former member of the American Communist Party (he left the party before WWII started), and served time in jail for refusing to enlist during WWII, because of his commitment to non-violence. Even though the leaders of the Civil Rights Movement were righteous men and women, they were still trapped by the morality of their time.(April 6, 2013 at 7:33 pm)rexbeccarox Wrote: Yeah. No need to thank Martin Luther King Jr. or Rosa Parks, or anyone like that. Only now, is Rustin starting to get some of the credit he deserves for his valuable role in the Movement. And really only through the GLBT movement's push for equality is his recognition made possible. Just food for thought, nobody's perfect, not even great men, like MLK Jr. RE: In Case You Needed Further Proof...

That's what bigots say about others, are you saying and including yourself in the roll of a bigot, just saying.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
