Yup! My mom makes a big pot of them every New Year's day. As I think they're disgusting, I never carried it on. My sister does, though.

Most of my recent ancestors are from Tennessee starting with my father's great grandfather on my direct paternal lineage.

Most all of my ancestors from all over the southern states moved to East Texas shortly after the American Civil War.

I suppose because most of the South was burned to the ground whereas Texas was untouched. Like a fresh start in a sense.

Grew up mostly in a suburb of Knoxville. My dad lived in Oak Ridge when he died, but he also lived in Morristown for a while.

Mom's family is from Tellico Plains in Monroe county. I lived there for a couple of years when I was a kid. I also lived in the Memphis area when I was young then again as an adult. Plus I lived Nashville for a couple of years and Knoxville (Farragut) for 3.
