Perhaps with the acceptance of evolution and this new proclamation of salvation for those with "good" hearts the Catholic Church might go full secular in the next few decades. Maybe this pope will also fix the problem of molestation-prone priests by abolishing vows of abstinence.

The cynic in me says that he is simply setting the stage for the next pope to be so conservative that he makes Ratzinger look like Jane Fonda.
