There's more to a one-on-one debate than everyone else butting out. There are rules of discourse that are agreed upon prior to the debate. I think this is your stumbling block because you know (or should) that if you were forced by agreement to present positive evidence for your position, the emptiness and inanity of your claims would be evident even to you.
For what it's worth, everyone else already knows it so you really have no face to lose.
