The most important reason anyone is an atheist

RE: The most important reason anyone is a atheist
Since virtually every falsifiable proposition in the book has been falsified, there's no reason to imagine that the rest of it has any basis in reality.

You said we don't rise during the resurrection in our old bodies? Then why the does your NT go to lengths to show that Jesus did exactly that? His body was missing from the tomb, and his disciples felt the prints of his hands and feet and side where he was pierced. Not only that, but the dead rose from their graves and did the Michael Jackson Thriller dance in Jerusalem. If you don't believe any of that happened (and I'm damn glad if that's the case), then why believe in the Resurrection at all?

Intellectual consistency.

There's always a few in every crowd that have to be contrarians.

That hardly exists amongst religious theologists.

It does not even appear amongst theists whatsoever.

If one wants true intellectual consistency, one needs to look no further than the one question that will answer the existence of a deity.

Do you have any proof beyond a personal I just feel that god exists?

Yours works like this:

False.

It is more like this:

Atheist: where's the evidence?
Theist: right here.
Atheist: that's not evidence.
Theist: Sure it is.
Atheist: If it was true evidence, it would be accepted by those intelligent enough to accept it as evidence.
Theist: You're just close-minded and stupid.

Reading the damn bible was a large part of disabusing me of any notion that I wanted to continue being one.
I was an atheist years ago. Then I read the Bible with a fresh set of eyes and it opened up for me. YMMV

False. You read it with rose-colored glasses. Most likely, you were having troubles in your life at the time, and false biblical words persuaded you in your time of weakness.

It was many centuries wasn't it.
Origen, one of the earliest Christian writers considered much of it allegorical. The fact is that since the very beginning people have considered the text from multiple perspectives.

Yes, much the same way people view fiction.
