But I don't hate the church. Hell I photographed quite a few in England and Europe. Very picturesque. The music can be nice. People seem to enjoy the comradery and some do a lot of good through charity. Nothing to hate there.

It is when the religious seek to enforce their moral choices on the general public through secular law that I chafe. If they think their religion gives them inspiration for a legislative improvement I would simply ask that they argue for it on secular grounds.

I certainly don't hate 'god' - whatever that may be. Far from it. When I was a believer I thought he was the greatest. Now - and this may be where my prideful intellect gets in my way - I don't even know what people mean by 'god' anymore. Really. It means lots of different things to lots of different people, but it is an empty signifier to me.

What concise arguments are you talking about? Are you talking about the ones laden with ad-homs and strawmen? That's not concise, you idiot, that's fallacious; fallacious arguments are not concise, they are dismissable and erroneous.
