But that is a justification. The only "if" that should be applied to rape is "if some asshole had not decided to commit rape." Most rapes do not occur because a woman wandered into a dark alley drunk and wearing a short skirt.

It is not a justification.

Not locking your doors or windows is not a justification for someone to rob your house IT is a causitive factor in allowing a burglary to take place.

In fairness, I get the feeling Tonus was saying that it's an insufficient justification, yet still a justification all the same.

Let's clarify some language....

Do 'rob your house' and 'burglary' mean the same thing?

Causitive factor? Do you really talk like this? Who the fuck says 'causitive factor'?

Here's what we'll do...
Every time you say 'causitive factor', I'll 'casually fuck' your mouth. How does that work? You don't have to admit your blowing me, I'm just 'casually fucking' your mouth. I think this works out great for both of us.

So later the same night when me and Mrs. Cato start having relations she'll accuse me of 'casually fucking' someone in the mouth, and then I can say "no dear, it's the result of a causitive factor".

To clarify, I meant that it was an attempt to justify the act.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

if I turn you on that much that you have to imagine me performing oral sex on you to get off then I am greatly flattered.

Are you really trying to argue this? You are so wrong. The day before you give birth, that's a fetus (clump of cells, you call it, what makes it any different? It could be more useful than you to the world, and probably will be). So it's a human being just a really young one.

Before the third trimester the fetus has no nervous system. That is not a person.

In a normal context, where to people just can't control their libido or don't take precautionary measures in advance. You might call them idiots, however, idiots can be good parents. Impulsiveness should be a virtue.

The alternative to allowing abortion is compelling women to bear children against their will: literally, forced labor.

I don't think forcing women to bear children against their will is morally justified.

I'm pro-abortion. Sometimes protection fails. Also, sometimes medical problems are found in the fetus that are unheardof, and thus the would-be parents are unsuited to do so.

I cringe at the idea that a woman would get an abortion if she/her partner made no attempt at contraception, but still, I think abortion is on the table. Maybe slight criminal charges, too.

I don't think it should be used as the birth control of choice preventative contraception is a better way of doing it. But if you make it illegal women may opt to have back alley abortions so you're potentially putting their lives at risk. As long as it's done at a very early stage it won't be any worse than stem cell research, I don't think anything conscious is being destroyed there.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.
