True, but that doesn't give you carte blanche to believe in whatever you want and not get called out on it, especially when what you believe is fucking retarded.
Getting called out doesn't bother me, and childish names don't also.

If it keeps to itself, and minds its own business so to speak, religion isn't an issue. It's when it wants to force itself into government laws, and the educational system, and so on ...that is when it becomes a BIG problem. And when that happens, it's never a fair balance of religious views anyway. It is always a Christian view point that seems to take over. (in the US)
So, I don't hate religion per se. I just think it needs to mind its business, and be a private thing people do with others who share the same mindset. Privately.
Also, churches and religious organizations shouldn't enjoy tax emempt status, either. So, if you preach nonsense, you don't have to pay taxes? When you don't think religion plays a role in government, think again.

No. Even as a private thing religion is like a virus. It affects it's host and host affects the world. Also it tends to spread from one host to another. It's contagious.

True, but we aren't the thought police. lol People have a 'right' to think as they wish. Even if it's nonsense.

Btw the religion is in fact thought police. It has thought crimes in it like blasphemy and lust which are threatened with eternal punishment.
Basically religion makes people control their own thoughts to go in accord with the religion. How can I possibly police their mind? Am I gonna threaten them with punishment or surgically remove religion from their brains? Of course not. All I can do is have a conversation.
