The fundamental difference is that if one cannot prove the existence of leprechauns, it is not rational to believe that they exist anyway. It is best to assume that leprechauns do not exist until such evidence is discovered that they do exist, which is highly unlikely would you not agree?

I don't have to prove anything. YOU are claiming a figment existed. YOU have to prove he did.

THere is a lot of other situations where we don't see the miracles of evolution as well due to Biologic impossibilities, no scientific possibility of speciation changes due to the inviolable genetic codes of different kinds of creatures, if they just project enough time into the speculative process, however, theoretically even the impossible will miraculously become possible.
You have truly proven your ignorance with that post.
You do not understand biology, you do not understand biochemistry, you do not understand speciation, and you do not understand evolution.
Not only do you not understand, you make assertions that are utterly false and unsupportable.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

No I don't have to prove anything.
So, how do you know this was a hoax:
THe prediction at Fatima Portugal came true:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_of_the_Sun
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Lady_of_F%C3%A1tima
THe testimonies of the 70,000 witnesses and the fulfilled predictions isn't something I can say with certainty is bullshit, especially when a lot of the articles were written by people of no Religious persuasion, or Communists and freemasons who were hostile toward Religion.

Historians wrote about Christ, and not as a fictional charactar. The same is not true of Lebrechauns.

Precisely. But what you say in the absence of ANY evidence is worth no more than my saying :
Which is what you're trying to get us to believe.
Christianity (Paulianity) as it exists today is fundamentally "non-biblical", (as the eminent Jewish philosopher/Talmud scholar Martin Buber has pointed out in "Good and Evil").

Nothing happened at Fatima. It was mass-hysteria. Is a well documented phenomenon. (The Third Secret, BTW was ALTERED by the Pope. He didn't like what the real one said).
NOT one astronomer documented anything ever different happening that day, from a distance away.
If you NEED your religion dear, by all means tell yourself it's true, and keep it. It's all nice and good. Just don't make up shit about the past, and expect intelligent people to buy that it's somehow based on reality.

There is no actual historical record of Jesus having actually existed. All one has is fallible biblical records written by fallible men who wanted a certain figure to be more real than he was.

When it comes to seeing "visions," I just think people see and hear what they wish. And to create cheesy tourist attractions out of supposedly "sacred" events tells me all I need to know about their validity.
It is not unlike the paranormal or UFO "sightings." People might see something "else" or hear something "else" and because a place has been dubbed as "haunted," will assume what they saw was of the paranormal variety.
I know that Fatima story, and unfortunately, it is a story just like the Bible.
You glossed over my comment about research showing how it wasn't uncommon for people prior to Jesus' time, to think that gods were impregnating virgins.
It really wasn't anything new as Christianity would have us believe. (the idea of gods impregnating mortals)

Thunder, please be quiet. Jebus no likey when women talk.
Genesis 3:16
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
1 Corinthians 11:3
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Ephesians 5:22-24
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
1 Timothy 2:11-15
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing.
Now maybe go plan to make a pilgrimage to Italy and worship at the shrine of Jebus' Holy Prepuce. Some "scholars say" that the emperor Charlemagne was praying at the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem when an angel brought him the foreskin of Jesus. Later, he gave it to Pope Leo as a present. After passing through many hands, it finally landed in Calcata, Italy and had its own chapel. The Feast of the Holy Prepuce celebrates the circumcision of Jesus. The foreskin was reported to have been responsible for many wonderful miracles.
Fatima schmatima.
Celebrate Jebus' weeny.
