Actually I already have a bridge, it was free, it cost me nothing and it leads to an eternity of grace and joy, to so much that is good and right no one can even imagine. So keep your bridge, actually you should join m on this free bridge to new life. Salvation is a gift through grace from God, now I do not pay for gifts given to me and grace is unmerited love meaning there is noway to earn salvation, seems to be quite free to me. As far as whither I'm wallowing in a lie, death will reveal the truth to all. GC
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
Heaven is like a hotel? I can check in if I wish? lol

The heavens, to those early writers, was either the dome that stretched over the Earth, or incorporated it as part of an unseen structure "behind" the sky. Earth was described as god's "footstool" which could indicate a relative position (it was "beneath" the heavens). The new testament (Revelation, mostly) fleshes out the idea of heaven as a location that can be described in human terms, with a throne and homes and land and rivers and such. I don't think I ever considered it to be that way literally, but as a JW (who with few exceptions look forward to a future on Earth, not in heaven) it didn't matter much to me. The notion was that being in god's presence was so overwhelmingly pleasant that it didn't really matter whether it was clouds with a golden gate or a city built from jewels or anything else.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

So God chooses who to invite? What about those poor souls that don't get invited? And what about those of us he failed to keep? Doesn't seem very right now does it?

That Christians believe they are "gaining" eternal life for "free" (because Christ paid the price) but the opposite is true. You are losing touch with solid reality so you can waste your time wallowing in a lie. Well, that's not a very productive in a discussion, if we all have to wait until you're dead. I was once taught that God, in his mercy, can 'accept' anyone. If heaven exists, not only Christians will be there. (May 2, 2014 at 2:17 pm)DarkHorse Wrote: So God chooses who to invite?
