That said, yes the urge to fuck and to protect are both natural. Usually the urge to protect and not harm prevails. That's good thing. No?

Natural and moral are two entirely different things. What you basically have with rape is a small benefit to the man (orgasm) and an incredible amount of psychological harm to the woman (or man.) The amount of harm caused is far greater than the benefit received. So it's not moral. It could very well be natural though. I don't know why that's really all the relevant.

The natural benefit of non-consensual intercourse is not orgasm, it's procreative opportunity. It's not a strategy for causing or avoiding harm, it's harm nuetral (lol) in it's motivations.

It's harm neutral in it's motivations? Even if the motivation was procreation (I seriously doubt it) that doesn't make it harm neutral.

I'm not trying to make the case that rape, in it's ritualized form, isn't motivated by malice, but that the reason that rape exists in nature...has nothing to do with malice.

It extends to humans, as animals, as primates, as mammals, as social creatures. We see non-consensual sex leveraged as a procreative strategy in all of these groups.
That doesn't stop us from making it into the sort of reverse-artform. Taking something that can be a tick of the machine and turning it into a full blown kink.

I guess I don't find the motive to be all that important. Maybe it's motivated by malice (I think that apes and dolphins might be able to feel something equivalent of malice, it's hard to say.) Who cares what the motive is, or whether or not it's natural. It's one of the clearest cases of an immoral behavior out there.

Well, when someone asks whether or not it's natural - if you strip away your bias on the subject you might notice that "natural rape" - what exists, inarguably in nature - and the rape the question is being asked about aren't really in the same box. It's a non-question, and thusly can't be answered adequately. No amount of referring to the one is going to give us insight on the other with the amount of unspoken assumptions likely to have been made.
And about those dolphins....I'm not so eager to paint them with a human brush. I'll withhold judgement on the level of malice present in Flippers heart so long as I don't require malice to explain a behavior.
