I don't think this ark idea has been thought out properly just quietly.
Tell me why the good rev thinks us heathens aren't going to throw him overboard the second he starts preaching?
Does he really want us on the ark?
I think I know why.
Because he will need people with actual skills for:
Maintenance
Navigation
Logistics
HR
So basically he needs us, not the other way round!

I think we should just build our own ark. After all, we know a four hundred foot long wooden boat would not float. But I know a few engineers who design and build air craft carriers.

I don't know, a modern, steel, engineered ship doesn't seem very....biblical.
For the ark we need something more half-ass, ad hoc - bears skins, stone axes, pitch to seal leaks, wooden buckets to bail out the bilge - that sort of thing.
And sheep. Lots and LOTS of sheep.

The Shell Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) platform, which is the largest ship in the world and almost the largest thing in the world, would make more sense as an ark because it's 1,601 feet long and can hold up to 600,000 tons.
