Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment. Sahih International RE: In need of a more humbleness. Just because people say something doesn't mean it is true, the grandfather more than likely had ulterior to his motives just like ISIS. Religion is only their scapegoat. Can't speak for the homosexuality part though, as I have no knowledge of it. RE: In need of a more humbleness. Why condemning the Theistic position makes no sense.

I could describe merits of faith, but they won't have anything to do with a specific god - and they certainly won't be very flattering to the general idea of a god.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. They also tend to say that their position is solely based on what they have experienced. They don't know proofs for God, so they won't assume there are any proofs for God. God hasn't revealed himself to them so they won't assume he has to others. Nah, it's more fun being an asshole.

Due to influential speakers, many are deluded into denying the potential merit something has simply because they don't like that something. This is called a bandwagon, and even atheists are not immune to the bandwagon phenomenon. When such people, atheistic or not, congregate in large numbers they have a sense of might makes right as their numbers give them a feeling of empowerment. This is why you will never be able to have these people view their opinions without their own bias or bigotry getting in the way. In essence what I am saying is your effort is futile. Please, Celestine, hop in and correct our groupthink the next time we blast some nutball for his passive aggressive death threats huddled up in the warm and fuzzy costume of armageddon. The discussion clearly needs your input, but nope...nowhere to be found in -those- threads, huh........
