Yeah, I guess more info is needed. If she's relgiously liberal, just be open but respectful. If she's the kind to post on the rapture ready forum, head for the hills.

Simply keep religion and atheism out of it, there is much more than these two beliefs in the world, and its healthy to have your own beliefs and opinions. If you can't talk to each other about things you both don't agree with, then don't get too involved with each other because its not going to last.

My guess is that what will matter between you is not how educated in Christianity she is, but how much she cares about it. So find out how much it matters to her. The more important it is to her, the sooner you'd better come out as atheist. It's like ripping off a bandage, it hurts more, the slower you peel it back.

I've only had one experience of this, and it ended badly. But I think it will depend entirely on how strong her religious feelings are, and how well she can keep them separate from your relationship. I'd agree being up front and talking it all through is the way to go.

I would lean towards thinking it is generally a bad idea, though.

My advice for dating a Christian would be .... Don't! But I'm an arrogant asshole that doesn't date people who think too differently of me.

One of my exes so far was Christian and I really felt uncomfortable with that. I have no advice. Of course american style dating is pretty harmless, so just go for it. The important thing is to be yourself from the beginning I think. If you're out of the closet and the topic comes up, I'd be honest, otherwise it'll just become awkward in the long run if the relationship works out...

What's the deal with American dating style? For some reason in my language there's no word "dating", it's just called "going out with someone", and when the two start calling each other as boyfriend and girlfriend, they form a pair and are called a "couple" (though with a different word)

The problem is I can't just be polite and try to work it out, I'll probably have to denounce BS on religion and that's why I can't be with someone with an irrational position - I won't lie. A deist would be fine as long as she was open minded I guess, but Christians hell no... When I started dating my girlfriend she was supposedly a Christian, though she never prayed, or read the bible or talked about god, it was just a childhood meaningless label without importance - And now that I've rented her a good novel from a native writer about atheism she is beginning to let go Catholicism and on her way to atheism or at least deism. However if we're talking about American style Christian then I'd never date that person, the kind of person who goes to church every week and keeps saying "I'll pray for you" or "God bless our love" - Sex ought to be boring, lol

Easiest to just become a Muslim, and then just throw back any crap you get from them replacing jesus with Muhammad and God with Allah. Guaranteed to be a tie at worst.
