Questions about noah ark
#61
RE: Questions about noah ark
This is from Ed Davis's account.

Quote:"Something happened to me in '43 that's haunted me all my life..
I'm in the 363rd Army Corps of Engineers working out of a base in Hamadan (ancient Ekbatan or Ecbatane), Iran. We're building a Way Station into Russia from Turkey. A supply route.

How does someone do a search to find out if a person actually did serve in the military and was stationed where they said they were?

Quote:My grandfather knows where it is and has gone up there,' he says matter-of-factly. I thought, Boy would I like to see that...

One day in July, his grandfather, Abas-Abas, visits our base and tells Badi the ice on Ararat is melting to where you can see part of the Ark. Badi tells me if I want to see it they will take me there. I had done a favor for their village that put me in good stead with the Abas family. In fact, they now have water, where before they had to walk two miles to get it.

According to Davis, his commanding officer said that he could take leave to climb the mountain. For those who have fought during wars, would you commanding officer just let you wander off to climb some mountain in the middle of building a road?

Quote:Abas tells me the name of the village means "Where Noah Planted The Vine." I see grape vines so big at their trunk you can't reach around them. Very, very old.

Where is this village and what is its name? Davis just says that it is a primitive village and doesn't name it.

Quote: It's all sacred to them. That night, they show me the artifacts. Oil lamps, clay vats, old style tools, things like that. I see a cage-like door, maybe thirty by forty inches, made of woven branches. It's hard as stone, looks petrified. It has a hand-carved lock or latch on it. I could even see the wood grain.

How long does it take wood to petrify?

A
Quote:fter they finish praying, Badi Abas points down into a kind of horseshoe crevasse and says, 'That's Noah's Ark.' But I can't see anything. Everything's the same color and texture. Then I see it -- a huge, rectangular, man-made structure partly covered by a talas of ice and rock, lying on its side. At least a hundred feet are clearly visible. I can even see inside it, into the end where it's been broken off, timbers are sticking out, kind of twisted and gnarled, water's cascading out from under it.

Abas points down the canyon and I can make out another portion of it. I can see how the two pieces were once joined -- the torn timbers kind of match.

How old is the ark supposed to be exactly? An artifact of wet wood isn't going to last a few thousand years.

If this is the best that those who believe in the flood have than I think that we can safely put the ark on Arat to rest. It isn't there.

It is the very best they have. Sadly for them and their mythological delusions.

Why would I want repellent? I'd like to catch me a megalodon for a pet and get me some of that sweet sweet mermaid lovin'. Do they look like Jaws and Daryl Hannah respectively?

Yeah, I think this is the other thing that's irritating me about how Drich is conducting himself in this thread: he's accusing us of ignoring evidence, while himself skipping over the massive amount of evidence that directly contradicts the idea of a worldwide flood.

But then, it's Drich, so...
