Wow, really? "I had an experience with a god...but I'm not going to tell you about it...except when I tell you about it"
-and by god you mean..what, the generic "whatever lead to us" thing from before..or, is it all of a sudden some clearly anthropomorphic entity? Mighty and righteous, and all that happy horseshit?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

What did I give up?
Not horse shit. Unity, enlightenment, inner peace, tranquility, ease of earthy burdens, direction, love, faith.

Not sure what I am. I need to do a lot of research. Seam connected to Judaism and Buddhist beliefs.
Unfortunately far from nirvana as I am a hypocrite. There is a link to good and evil and indifference; our conscious.

Still wondering what exactly this 'divine intervention' that convinced you of God's existence was.

My guess is some people would call it an epiphany, or some altered mental state...
But I'm in the blind... and he's not talking to us heathens.

Now wait a minute.......I can't call that happy horseshit? Sounds nice, to me.....and I thought that's how we were deciding all of this?

Hum... I've got most of those things. I need faith to finish the set and I win some spoons.

Interesting talking about epiphanies, I was about 14 when I had what you might call a reverse-epiphany - and I distinctly remember the scene. There I was getting my shoes on for school in the morning, vaguely thinking about religion and how unlikely I found it all, and outta nowhere I was thunderstruck with the realisation, clearer and more crystallised than pretty much anything I've experience before and since: THERE IS NO GOD. After that, it was all over - I was pretty much instantly a "Grade 7" atheist, and I have not wobbled one iota in that conviction since.
An interesting view into how differently-structured brains come to different conclusion, I suppose, if nothing else.
