Everything in this universe is temporary.
What make sense today tomorrow will be discarded in the rubbish bin of history so what we think it is perfect today will be found
wrong tomorrow.
Physical science can not possibly found permanent solution to the main human problem which is to find permanent peace of mind but by
following mother nature way of acting it is possible to find solutions to a lot of material-physical-mental problems.
Now let me give an example of bias and incompetence and the arrogance in refusing to follow mother nature example.
By using a tiny bit of intellect we can draw the conclusion that cells must be alive in order to deliver us the nutrients.
Dead substances are not able to feed us so we would be dead by now or as a matter of fact never existed.
If cells are alive then we can easy deduce that the cells got to be conscious.
As the small merge in the big by nature we can also deduce that the cells consciousness merge in us.
From here we can also deduce that the cycle of merging goes on and on leading to some goal.
Atheism is therefore full of arrogance into believing that the cycle end without a goal.
Why the cycle of merging into something big should end all of a sudden when in fact mother nature show us that
the cycle goes on and on?  Lightbulb
None of that answered my question. Want to try again? You've been working on something, and come to conclusions. What can you do to minimize your own bias and errors? This has nothing to do with atheism, so it's irrelevant to randomly slag it off. But by all means do it again.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Neimon........ In one word? Rocket. Two...... Dodder Vine. Three, green leaf volatiles.
(not that any of that will go far in establishing Riks opus, mind you)

Broken clocks, dog's days, etc.

One of the more succinct quotes from Riks glinks would be this... from Scientific American

Quote:A plant, he argues, can see, smell and feel. It can mount a defense when under siege, and warn its neighbors of trouble on the way. A plant can even be said to have a memory.
http://www.scientificamerican.com/articl...chamovitz/
It's not going to be -too- hard to find a description of consciousness that this fits, and this describes the abilities of -nearly- every plant. Some plants have disturbingly pronounced abilities in one or more areas relevant to our notions of consciousness.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I also cannot wait until a robust theory of consciousness shows all the nihilists and materialists for the closed minded antireligious bigots that they are.

Derp.

You've reached troll level, Chad. Tossing around the word "bigot" for anyone that disagrees with you is a sure sign that your argument has petered out.

A very fine demonstration of the frequently observed theist characteristic of not being able to even consider the possibility that they could be wrong.

All I got from that is that plants have some sensory abilities, but there are a lot of unknowns and scientists are reluctant to say anything that would indicate intelligence in plants. Which definition would you be arguing this fits? And this doesn't go anywhere near proving cells are conscious.

So if plants have sensory abilities there got to be something that perceive these abilities.
Who else but the consciousness.
Without a witness entity how could the plant know what is going on?
Look at the matter like uranium.
Why uranium can deliver energy and other types of matter can't?
The consciousness level is not the same for everybody or everything.
This is because the journey to evolution start at different time for different entity.
The cycle goes on and on for ever so if the journey for that matter better known as uranium
started earlier than that of other types of matter then uranium will sort of wake up earlier from that latent or dormant
situation in which he is in.
This release of energy driven by that previous dormant consciousness that want to get out that constraint that kept her
in chains so to speak for so long is the clear signal that the time for more consciousness is up.
Consciousness is not only in plants.
It is everywhere.
According to yoga the matter is none but the solidification of God mental energy.
An old saying............WHAT GOES DOWN HAS GOT TO COME UP.
And therefore as pure consciousness went down in this continual cycle of creation or better say of de evolution
it will have to go back up until it merge again in this vast ocean of cosmic consciousness.
Cell therefore must have consciousness.
We all feed on something alive.
If the cells wouldn't be alive we wouldn't and could not survive.
And if they are alive it is obvious that they are conscious form of life.  Lightbulb

Wait, was it back away slowly maintaining eye contact or run and don't make eye contact?
