What is your definition of holy? What exactly does it mean to go against god's nature?
Against nature.

Again, God's nature is nature. Science has found out quite a bit about it.

Digging up a recently deceased thread for rats to gnaw at its carcass - that's a sin around these parts.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Genocide is a base indulgence.  I never escalate beyond killing the first-born of each household.  Holiness entails moderation.
Are you referring to the king that ordered the death of all first born from two and under in order to kill the prophesied savior?

If so, that was not the work of God, nor was the holocaust.

Stimbo-

What is the expiration date of a thread? (At CAF, it's about a year...though that's not hard and fast...and subject to mod's discretion.)

I'll keep an eye on the dating once I know what to look for. Thanks!

It is really a stupid, moronic idea that thinking about something is as bad as doing it.  But because this stupid, moronic idea is in the Bible, many people believe it.  But the simple fact is, it is impossible to not ever have "bad" thoughts, and it does not hurt anyone if you do have such thoughts occasionally.  Acting on them, though, is an entirely different matter, and it is an insane "morality" that does not properly distinguish between the two.  They are not even close to being equivalent.
If the mass of Christendom didn't pride themselves on ignorance, what all too often appears to be an obviously half-baked and primitive morality could easily be spun into a piece of practical wisdom. In this instance, one could say that Jesus is referring to the hypocrisy of those who snub their noses at degenerates and is making the point that intentions are far more important than actual deeds, at least in many instances. Of course, as evidenced by our resident Christians, most believers have an extremely vulgar and simplistic view of the world, and hence, their faith, and think all sins are no-no's of equal merit because even the most harmless earns its offender hellfire on the Day of Judgment. All that said, you won't ever hear a defense from me of the really ridiculous shit that the NT advocates under the pretense of righteousness.
All sin is not equal. Hypocrisy, especially by those who are supposed to know better is a huge sin. Homosexuality by a non believer due to ignorance of said right is a nominal sin.

Bollocks. What goes on in people's heads hurts no one, and is no one's business but their own, or those they choose to share it with. To say a thought is the same as the action is absurd, and one of the most harmful ideas Christianity brings. If I really believed God was judging me for every thought I had, my life would be a constant misery.

According to Jesus, I cheat on my wife several times a day. According to reality, I have never and will never cheat on my wife. So fuck Jesus. If it upsets Jesus and God, they need to grow up and stop being cry babies. I care about actual people and actions, not people's private thoughts or the opinions of magical pencil toppers.
That's kinda the point, I think. All have sinned. Knowledge of this and real effort against sin is key to selfless enlightenment, as are selfless thoughts, and actions. Actions are always more productive than thoughts, regardless of direction.

After reading the bible - one can conclude that there really is NO sin.

A sin would be an offense against the god - but -

1 - The god is a MYTH and a Fairy tale
2 - The god of the bible created everything including everything EVIL - and he called all his creations GOOD - so there cannot be an offense against the god. Only GOOD. No matter what you do.
That is one of the most ludicrous things I have ever heard.

God was the creating force behind all. True

God created all in his image.
True

God make everything from his self. False.

There was separation of light and dark. God made everything from darkness and his light. The light or substance that makes up everything is little in comparison to the emptiness and darkness. However it is the substance of truth, and is infinitely more powerful. However there is potential for good and bad due to the materials God had to work with.

Light/ good/ creation

Dark/ bad/ viod

Damn buddy. In that statement you felt sadistic joy. That is the manipulative nature of the evil that is part of us all.
