Share your experiences with God

I don't think Catholics go in for direct experiences with God. They have the pope and a user manual to answer their every question. It tends to be the born-again-crowd that goes in for the cathartic God-encounters.
My sister think that she had an experience with God.
Because once she was at church and she was feeling sad and then she prayed and rain started to fall. ._. I suspect most of the experiences theists have for justifying their belief in gwad would be some experience like this. From what I've heard they fall into two categories:
1) A perfectly normal event being interpreted with special significance 2) A brain malfunction of some sort, which is not recognised as such by the person Before even hearing what someone has to say, I'd put my money on one of these being the real explanation. And they are vastly more probable than it actually being some supernatural event. These things inevitably leave no evidence, and rely entirely on the person's memory of the event which is in itself unreliable and will warp with time. Feel free to send me a private message.

I once had a non-drug-induced olfactory hallucination of rotting flesh that lasted a few seconds while I watched a daytime talk show in the early '90s. (Who knows -- perhaps Montel Williams has this effect on many other people?) This event that existed in my brain alone was more vivid and describable than any "experience of God" the believers are likely to offer, even the believers who claim to "know" God is real through allegedly regular contact with the divine.

Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
Well it was a normal Tuesday dinner, I had made a wonderful plate of fettuccine when a bright light beamed through my window. I opened said window and to my astonishment there he was, The Flying Spaghetti Monster, I was speechless.
On that day he shared with me sacred divine secrets of the universe and told me to not fret as all the religions of the world are wrong, He left me with a single uncoocked noodle to remember him by. I hope he blesses everyone as he did me. RAmen.
