Why Christianity?

But for the benefit of the others here are a lot "brighter", does God exist, Kaninchen?

There are some things that remain curious about you, Randy, and one of them is your desperate desire to make yourself appear even more silly than you actually are.  At the moment you seem dedicated to living up to the 'insanity is repeating . . .' idea and you need a new theme.

Let's see if one more try will work - if the question you're asking isn't working, try asking a smarter question.

You're not in a position to determine anything but, if you smarten up, you might be able to move forward.  Leave your clockwork paradigms behind, just for a few minutes.
The gods did not reveal, from the beginning,
All things to us, but in the course of time
Through seeking we may learn and know things better.

These things are, we conjecture, like the truth.

But as for certain truth, no man has known it,
Nor shall he know it, neither of the gods
Nor yet of all the things of which I speak.
And even if by chance he were to utter
The final truth, he would himself not know it:
For all is but a woven web of guesses.

I'm staggered, for the first time in my experience, Randy has asked a sensibly relevant question.

The answer - Torah! Torah! Torah!

The only tradition he helt up were the obliogatory pieces of matza at the Easter table and a few jiddish words he used to call me by when I was little. Lifelong socialist although he was a rather successful tailor and came from a family of merchants. I doubt the other one was more religious, since he's known to have gambled away his fortune at the tables of Abazia and Monacco during the 20ies and 30ies. And both married christian women, one of them even divorced before. So, they obviously weren't traditionalists.

So, truth to tell, I don't know shit about judaism although, technically, I'm half jewish.

Yes, we're just as awful as everybody else, though sometimes somewhat noisier.

Now, THERE's the Kaninchen I know. Well said.

The Torah: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Number and Deuteronomy.

(But look, you need to keep this on the QT...if some of the folks around here catch wind of this, they'll start caterwauling about G-d condoning genocides and rapes and all sorts of stuff.)

Except, of course, we've spent millennia rowing between ourselves about "what was that all about then?"

On the one hand, while on the other hand, while on yet another hand . . .

Because he'd rather spam us with slanted opinion pieces claiming they're not only completely factual but also evidence for his bullshit claims.

This might sound weird coming from a 'Christian', but I don't think it matters if you believe in any god, or whatever god you do believe in. The idea that god is a jealous god was nothing more than a ploy to say "Choose my religion over theirs". It's possible god had some hand in all religions, or even none.

What was a god but some con man who made up a lot of religious and behavioral rules that he forced everyone to follow under penalty of death.

Indeed. A God who judges people even partly on whether or not they believe he exists is some fucked up, childish, insecure kind of God. Doesn't really fit the narrative of the amount of power he generally has attributed to him.

Why is he judging us at all? If he made us and all the rules, ultimately he is judging himself.
