Christians: Why does the answer have to be god?

False dichotomy. Evolution and magic aren't the only two options, even if you did prove evolution to be false.

It seems that evolution of man can't be, the genome of man is miss copying itself at a rate that man will become extinct in some thousand years from now. So we can eliminate evolution for man and the only thing left is a creation corrupted by sin.

I'm debating a creationist ATM, and he thinks that because we don't know how life began, it must be god. But why? Since a lot of (christians/creationists) think that, why does the answer to our biggest questions have to be God? Why can't we settle for "I don't know" and try to find the answer to these questions?

Honestly it comes down to intelligence and education. The thing is with theists they don't like using i don't know so they use god dun it 
as a answer rather than going out and figuring out what happened.

We're not all that way, but sadly, a vast majority are.

I'm feeling there must be an evolutionary explanation for such widespread discomfort with uncertainty. Our capacity to ask far outstretches our capacity to answer, and for some people that seems to causes a brain hole. This hole must then be filled in with the nearest available nonsense, because anything is better than a hole.

Rob I'm interested if you ever think our capacity to answer will catch up to our capacity to ask.  It seems the more we answer, the more questions arise.  "I don't know" is acceptable, but we will always seek the answer to those questions we feel are important to us.  We can deduce an answer that seems plausible, but still requires more questions.

I severely doubt it will ever catch up. As soon as one mystery is "solved" it is bound to open up more questions, like you say.

We may not ever even know if this is the only reality, a question that is clearly on many people's minds a lot.

Agreed.  One question answered opens a plethora more, to a seemingly infinite regress.

I would say that this situation is generally preferable to the alternative. If we knew everything, we'd get pretty bored as a species. It seems natural for us to want to always find out more.
