Hell, the Lions, Browns, and Vikings might even win Super Bowls before it happens.

The Lions have to get past the first round of the playoffs before they start thinking about a Super Bowl win. Quite frankly, I think Jesus has a better chance of returning.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
And now everyone is speaking Martian. Or might as well be. This is all about some sportball ritual, I think?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
Can't be Martian... Pastor Locke says that the Bible specifically says that God "put a bound on" the ability of anything to live on other planets. It's right there, "no matter what NASA says" (he cites Acts 26:17), there are no aliens and man will never live on Mars or the moon.
I wish I was making that up. It's 4 minutes and 20 seconds of the most inane shit I've ever heard. Totally worth a listen, though. It's all hilarious, but here's the end of it: "I don't care what NASA says, I don't care how many biologists and scientists they have... If you're a believer in the Word of God, then, theologically, you have to understand: God made man, put him on the earth, and then bound his habitation to the earth. So, no, ET is not real, right? I don't care what NASA finds, they're not going to find life, and we are never going to live somewhere else in the universe, other than the fact that when we get saved, we will leave this world--thank God--and go to heaven. And so I don't care about NASA finding water on Mars because, guess what, 23 years ago I took a drink of the living water of Jesus Christ, and he has changed me for ever and ever. So if you want a cool drink of water, I don't look to NASA, I look to the Word of God." https://www.facebook.com/PastorLocke/vid...497281968/

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
There should be a minimum set (IQ or Educational) standard for someone to call themselves a pastor.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite. Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment. Quote:Some people deserve hell. I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
I think there already is, but it's a negative integer.
We should stick this pasta in a room with Troy "Mars is the New Earth of Revelation" Brooks and video them wackalooning each other to death.

And while we are talking about "rhetorical".... your faux intelligent defense/offense and delivery are perfect! Unless you know something that the entire scientific community does not, brain function is one of the least understood mysteries of life! Try your bullshit on a fundi. My views of atheism are spot on. They are a bunch of fowl mouth jerks. A bubbling cauldron of hate and inequity, lacking in any sort of peace and kindness. You can vomit out all the lies men say and write and act on, in every subject on either side of religion over the millennia. But, the "one message" is clear and true. Love. That is where God is found. In Life & in Love. His true followers know this. But yours is a culture of hate & death. You strain over maybe 20,000 killed by Christians in the dark ages no less. Yet 900,000 abortions have taken place this year in the USA alone. Never mind the 50 million since 1973. Where's your outrage there? There isn't.... because that's "ok"! Its your choice, and new morality! Freedom has taken on a whole new meaning: Its what ever "I want to do". No, you don't have God. Most people don't....religious or not. Because they don't know where to look. Or even care to look. They know better. Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
