You missed my point. But you are not equipped to understand anything about God. Because He doesn't fit in your brain. And believe me honey... it aint me that's gonna try and convince you of anything God. Do not worry yourself about that! I'm not here to convert pagans. Just antagonize them.
And here you are being antagonised yourself, priceless.
I don't skirt around insulting people, the Surgeon's analogy of the KKK mother not going to his/her daughter's wedding to a black man is a very pertinent one.
As such, you are an UBER cunt. Like, fucking huge.

Protip: this isn't a Christian subforum. This is merely a designated area in an atheist forum to talk about Christianity. Don't expect this place to be a safe haven for Christians.
Also, not going to your daughter's wedding makes you an asshole. Full stop. Trying to justify it by hiding behind the writing of ancient goat fuckers is laughable at best.
Finally, no one is scared of your negative side. Just like no one is scared of your god, satan, hell, etc.

QFT.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

I'm gobsmacked that a parent could let a book written by primitive people about submission and human sacrifice come between them and their children.
Where's the harm, people always ask?

My Mother used that horrible book to disown her own parents. Then she used that horrible book to force my Father (who was a lovely, gentle, brilliant man -- but way TOO gentle) to not have any contact with his own brother - his only sibling - because she found out that he drank alcohol at a business convention. Then she used that horrible book to disown me and my brother - her only two children. Then she used that horrible book to force my father to disown his father, because our Grandfather welcomed me into his house after she decreed that he shouldn't.
Why? Because she believed that if she showed the slightest tolerance for any type of sin, gawd would send her to hell with the sinners.
Oh yeah, where's the harm???

That's absolutely disgusting, I'm so sorry to hear that
What came first do you think, in her case? Was the book the rationalization for her bigotry, or did the religion turn her into a bigot?

She was raised very, very poor - - Tennessee peanut and cotton farm, barely scrapin' by - - her father was illiterate, violent, and liked his booze. Her Mother took the kids to church, where (I think) she found a way to think she was superior to others, instead of poor white trash. So the mindset was, from an early age, "if I just pray hard enough, read the Bible, and avoid all evil, I will go to heaven and the rest of these scumbags will go to hell". She never let go of that. It tore her family apart, but getting to heaven "pure" was the ONLY thing.
She never saw the "love your neighbor" and "do not judge" parts of Christianity. One of her favorite parts of the Bible is the Rapture. Then, in Revelation, where god is going to slaughter all of the non-believers, and she'll be there at his side, able to watch the blood rise up to the horses' bridles . . . oh won't it be glorious? (heavy sigh)
The scary part is that she's not unusual. The US Bible Belt and the South are full of people just like her.

My, oh my - Jeebus is going to be so pleased with you. I'll bet he'll let you swivel on his shiny, slippery "rod of justice" for twice as long, as his other gimps. You deserve it, grrl...
