Oh yeah, bring it! Nothing like that old time christian paranoia!

I'm hoping that the people who reply to this post will give me some hope out there that I don't have to be ashamed of not believing, just because I'm not as certain and proclaim myself to be more Agnostic at times.. I'm still searching for an answer to why most of the Atheists I have talked to seem to be so unrealistically defensive about their stance. Hopefully joining this forum will help me to meet nice atheists. I still have hope
Atheists? Defensive? Who told you that? What are you talking about? Rubbish, shut up, we're not defensive, we're totally self-secure! Religious lies, religious lies... brainwashing...

Welcome Prosimian. My experience of this forum is that it is demographically more agnostic-atheist ie there is no reason to believe in a god, rather than there is no god. There are a few of us hard liners, but I think most of us believe that other positions (even theism) are respectable, just not correct.

We atheists have to be somewhat defensive when the Evangelical Christians are on the offensive all the time.

Yes, Atheists are too defensive. We need to go for the kill at every opportunity.
