On the other hand, sometimes people are actually bigots.
Like I said earlier, she championed and signed into law Arizona SB 1070, which essentially exists to further pre-existing anti-immigration laws in such a way that it's the closest we've had to the Nuremberg Laws since Congress struck down Jim Crow. So, it's very likely she is a bigot independent of her Trump support.
Godwin's law aside, do you think supporting that law makes one a bigot automatically? I mean I would say that about Jim Crow, I don't think you could support Jim Crow without being a bigot. I'm less certain about immigration laws.

Not all of us.
You and Min have all my sympathy, well, what's left over after allowing for the few conservatives who are not bat shit crazy but now find themselves locked in a party with Trump.

Perhaps in theory, supporting it may not automatically equal bigotry, even if many of the provisions give one pause, like the major "show me your papers" clause (one that requires "reasonable suspicion," a very vaguely defined term indeed) or the fact that anyone without the prerequisite papers cannot be released until the Feds confirm their immigration status (note: this is not something that can potentially happen due to vague language. This is meant to be standard operating procedure.)

(Seriously, a scene of Vichy French cruelty shouldn't seem this goddam relevant to a law ratified six years ago)
But, let's be realistic: in Arizona, can you really expect that the police doing this are going to enforce this law equally for soemone they suspect might be , say, a Canadian immigrant as they do to a Mexican immigrant?
While illegal immigration is a legitimate concern, it's all too often treated as a dog whistle for people to be racist without seeming racist, and when the suggested penalties get more and more cruel, and, frankly, unconstitutional, it just gets more and more obvious just what it is.

I don't think there's any doubt as to the nature of the walking-while-brown law in question, and so there can't be any doubt when it comes to it's supporters.

Especially not since her asshole-buddy, Sheriff Shitstain was found guilty

Quote:Sheriff Joe Arpaio is in civil contempt of federal court.
Snow ruled that the Maricopa County lawman and three of his top aides violated an order meant to curtail racial profiling in his agency, according to the ruling issued Friday.
We all knew what SB 1070 was about. They were hardly subtle?

Yep -- laws designed specifically to skirt Federal laws and rulings. As if they're not bloody transparent.
