We have an aircondition shop which on the hottest days at best can get down to only 85, and we absolutly love it and are thankful not to be working in the full heat.

80 degrees in a big city, in a crowd of people, wearing a pantsuit, for an elderly lady. Admittedly, the choice to wear a pantsuit probably wasn't the most advisable, but that is her style, and American politics is all about style. Her not wearing a pantsuit would be like Trump not wearing a regular suit. Her campaign probably didn't want any focus on her outfit. Again, not advisable, but understandable.

Quote:As far as the coughing.. With all due respect, I do not know how good your doctor is, but I think we can both safely assume that a former first lady, secretary of state, senator, and now presidential candidate has access to literally THE Best doctor in the world. In turn I am sure your doctor (as does mine) somewhat limits your diagnosis you to the flat rate fee he gets from the insurance company to diagnosis a chronic cough that doesn't meet critical status criteria. Doctors have to wait till more to show up with a cough to be green lit for addition expense of further diagnosis. Unless you are coughing blood and bits of lung, there is only so much the insurance company will pay for.

This happened when I was living in the UK, so insurance doesn't even come into it. I was seen by a number of doctors, prescribed several medications, had an invasive procedure, and still no diagnosis. It was a cough; it happens.

Quote:The fact that she had a persistent cough for 9 months under the care of the world's finest physicians, unlimited resources, best drugs and had access to the most advance facilities, means there is something really wrong especially when she is under scrutiny for her health. you know she did everything she could to keep all of this at bay and could not with the all the might modern medicine and her millions had to offer.

Or it means her doctor told her it was just a random cough, that no drug could make it go away, and it would eventually go away on its own. Just because people are rich doesn't mean they have access to miracle drugs. A cure for the common cold still eludes us for instance.

Quote:When you consider what she has access to, and the pressure she is under to show herself healthy and does everything she can but passes out at the worst possible time... Calling this a major health issue maybe an understatement.

You're right, it's a massive overstatement.

So... you are equating medical care of Joe (European) smow to the level of health care a world leader?

Do you really think you got the same attention with your cough that clinton got?

With you rattling on about it, apparantly not.

If that's what you got out of my post, fine. My point was sometimes a cough is just a cough, and there isn't any medication that can make it go away, regardless of your wealth or social / political status.

So no, I don't think my cough got the same attention that Clinton's got. I do however, think the outcome was the same. Some doctor somewhere told her "you're old, coughs happen, there's nothing we can do about it". That's more likely than her being seriously ill with no other symptoms other than her collapsing after being diagnosed with pneumonia a few days earlier.

She's been on the campaign trail all summer, in one of the hottest summers in recent years, and this was the first time anything even remotely newsworthy has happened regarding her health. So forgive me if I choose to ignore the Trump rhetoric and look at the evidence.

...because the two are mutually exclusive? You can be a complete moron when it comes to looking after yourself, but still be skillful at things involving other people. Besides, she looks like she takes care of herself pretty well in general. A one-time bad decision doesn't somehow mean she is incompetent.

She's in a race for President, not "most perfect President / leader of all time". All Presidents make mistakes, even the great ones.

My emphasis underlined.  I think you underestimate the drich.  In my experience he can be a complete moron 24/7.  It's probably congenital.

This 'story' shows the woman is dishonest to her core. That she can not even tell the truth about her health. If she is willing to literally lie about everything how can you trust anything she says?

But then bear in mind you're the guy who believes the bible is evidence of all manner of absurd things.  If this is what you think the story shows I see no cause for alarm.

Look at what she is lying about sport...

Does the average adult commit a treasonous act by selling power and influence of the state department to the highest bidder?

Of course not, and if there was any evidence she did she'd be in prison, not running for the highest office you moron.

The fact that she is lying about her health makes it a clean sweep. There is literally not one subject she has not lied or shown she is willing to lie about.

Well, imagine if Trump had stayed quiet about wanting to build a wall. At least he had the bollocks to come out with it instead of pandering to idiots who can't even speak the language.

But pandering to idiots is exactly what he is doing. He calls them his base.

I was referring to Clinton supporters.  Big Grin The one who is doing the pandering is Clinton. She is contradicting everything that she originally stood for. Trump maybe bent as a 9-bob note, he may be a moron, but he tells it like it is. Even if it means upsetting people, the truth just needs to come out. I mean my parents always told me to tell the truth and from then on, I always did, even when I was in trouble with the police for burgling a house with some friends when I played truant from school. A couple of days later, someone was caught and it was only a matter of time before the police would come knocking and I would have had the beating of a lifetime. Guess what, I told my parents what I did and nothing happened. So yes, it does pay to be brutally and totally honest, even if it upsets people. I did the same at work when there was this black guy, 6ft 5inches tall, built like a brick shithouse. He thought someone told on him, so, I was brutally honest and told him that I respect his work, but as a person I told him that I didn't like him at all. From then on, he was ok. All Hilary is doing is waiting for the hypocrites to vote for her.

Q:
(September 13, 2016 at 11:26 am)Drich Wrote: Do you think the whole voting populace looks to substantive topical or timely issues to determine a candidate's worthiness to hold the office of POTUS?

A: The sensible people do. Unfortunately many supporters of both Donald and Hilary are sheep. For example, what are Hilary's top five, let's say, achievements as Secretary of State? Sounds to me like spent the entire time writing e-mails about Yoga and wedding planning. And yet she's supposed to be this amazing competent individual who we should bow our heads in prostration to.

Same with Donald. I don't hesitate to say he's an awful business person. But people voted for him because they are ill-informed. The electorate is also angry at establishment figures like Hilary, I will grant you that, and some people just want to see the whole thing crumble with Donald as president.

Q:
Quote:Can the electoral process be more accurately compared to a popularity contest? Popularity based on what if not on some surface value attribute that a voter happens to identify with or simply like?

A: The media plays a big role in this. The news media in particular hesitates to talk about policy substance. And they don't like to press the main candidates on issues. In my opinion, there are two serious candidates for the Oval Office:
1. Gary Johnson
2. Jill Stein

Hilary and Donald are both embarrassments. The voters in the respective primaries should be ashamed of themselves. The media played a role too, because they want the ratings, but it is also up to the voters to investigate the candidates for themselves. In our Internet Age it's easier than ever before to see who is lying and who isn't. And consider this, Donald used to want more than two people in the presidential debates and now he's not really talking about such things:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpUH2OiiYec

Q:
Quote:Now what happens when that popular person's physical or mental well being is called into question? does that identfiable attribute remain or is it dimished in anyway? If so is does it change the want to vote for this person?

A: Hilary only wanted the FBI to think she is a retard so she could get away with her crimes. She's actually rather smart. After all, she constantly wriggles out of scandals that would end the political careers of anybody else. A lot like Donald, actually.

Anybody else who did what she did would be in jail. Being investigated by the FBI used to be a disqualifier for the presidency but people still voted for her, and now she has set a precedent. Hilary is a very good liar and she loves using Orwellian language.

Q:
Quote:Now ask yourself honestly, has it made a dent in the hardcore never trump-eters? has it put any of them on their heels? or do they just buckle down and hang on to some 'faith' that their canidate is better than trump?

A: I think those issues have, especially amoungst Millennials, had an effect. Millennials tend not to watch cooperate TV media. They are so many media personalities who claim to be "left-wing" or "liberal"  or "progressive" and yet they slandered Bernie in the primaries and they slander Jill Stein today. These people aren't liberal. They are corperatist sheep.

The four way polling shows Gary and Jill taking slightly more away form Hilary than Donald. Most of the Republicans that aren't extreme nationalists or Fascists (especially those who like politicians such as Rand and Ron Paul), I would imagine, will be voting for Gary Johnson. Some of the hardcore Ted Cruz supports may vote for Darrell Castle of the Constitution Party (where they can as they currently have access to 276 electoral votes - so in theory Darrell could become president).

If Hilary loses it will be the fault of the DNC, Debbie Do-Anything-For-Hilary and Hilary herself. The DNC has sadly given weight to Donald's claims of a "rigged system" and if Hilary wins he will justified in being suspicious of the result given how easy it is to hack voting machines. If left-wing voters aren't convinced by Hilary (maybe because she's ignoring them and rushing to appease the sorts of people who actually like Jeb Bush) there's no law saying they have to vote for her, and I believe Donald in the Oval Office will result fewer deaths of American soldiers in pointless wars.

Q:
Quote:If this is a non issue ask yourself why would anyone invest an effort in her defense? If this is pneumonia like they said then the only thing need be said is wait two weeks and see for yourself. Or better yet if it was a matter of hydration why not just say give her water, and have her dance a jig after she recovers...

If it's just Pneumonia then it is a non-issue because that alone isn't enough to make her unfit for the Oval Office. I personally think she has Parkinson's, based on what the Parkinson's Foundation (and others) lists as symptoms. But even if we assume I'm right, early Parkinson's isn't enough either. If Hilary's health does become an issue then the Twenty-fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution will come into play and the vice president takes over.

She lied about her health and that is my issue. If she's hiding any other health problems, like I say the twenty-fifty Amendment will kick in and stop her from doing any more damage to the country, and indeed the world. And I'm pretty sure Donald did too when he had they "astonishingly excellent" doctor's note written so I'm sure he's lying too. Donald Trump will not be the healthiest president ever. Gary Johnson might be though, because he's both a marathon runner and a mountain climber - if I remember rightly.
