Ah, yes...as in this scene from Woody Allen's Love and Death.
Boris: Sonja, do you even know what love means?
Sonja: There are many different kinds of love, Boris.
I think there are far weirder things than homosexuality. Eating eggs for instance. I mean, that's just disgusting and unnatural. Anybody who does that is a morally twisted degenerate.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life.

I'm not like a lot of christians who would deny gays their rights in our society, who am I to say how they should live, I do not know of a place in scripture that gives me the right to condem them or anyone else for that matter. I will say that I do not believe they have the right to marry, it goes against how God feels about that sort of thing. As you can read I'm not pro-gay, but I do not hate gays either, they are human beings created by God and in that I care about them as people, I don't know if any of this makes sence or not but I tried to explain.
You certainly have a right to think that homosexuality is "weird and unnatural". No one should fault you for that.
And I guess I can award you one point for not openly hating gays.
However, you've got several contradictory ideas in here.
#1 You say you do agree with scripture and that God knows how He feels about gays, but than you follow that up with: I do not know of a place in scripture that gives me the right to condemn them.
Hmmm, I know of one. Can someone throw G-C a chapter and verse please.
#2 If God knows how He feels about gays --- see above reference --- than explain why you wrote: ...they are human beings created by God. You see the contradiction don't you??
#3 You write: I'm not like a lot of christians who would deny gays their rights in our society, but than you follow that up with this: I will say that I do not believe they have the right to marry, it goes against how God feels about that sort of thing
I'm hoping you can plainly see why I broke down this highly contradictory post of yours.
I would have accepted your vote and not said a word if you had just elected number 2 as your vote in the poll. I kinda figured that's the way you were going to vote anyway.
I passed this one earlier in my bible.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."
I am assuming that denial of entry to the kingdom of God pretty much means you are damned.
And to follow up with another from leviticus:
Leviticus 20:13 - "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads".
But of course you don't know of a place in scripture that condemns them, so I suppose this does not matter then.
You should read my post more carefully, those verses do not give me the right to condemn gays, if you will read the verses very carefully you might see that this is God's right.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Ah, the good old Christian excuse to hate. I don't hate homosexuals, God hates homosexuals. I've never understood what the big deal about homosexuality is. I wouldn't want anyone judging me soley on who I have sex with so I'm not going to judge back.

Really? Because it wasn't God who wrote this... So to be honest I don't think you can really say that...

First of all I'm not looking for points that's no way to live a life, second I'm not hideing any hatred for gays, my christian ethics are to love all people.
#1 Yes, I'm correct in what I say, as far as I know God has given me no rights to condemn gays. That is God's right because He is the creator. Why don't you throw out the verse?
#2 If you are implying that God created them as gays I'm going to have to disagree with you, there is scripture to what I say, such as God created men and women for each other not man for man and woman for woman. You must realize that God hates their actions and the thoughts of their hearts, He does not hate them.
#3 Again I'm correct in what I've said, God calls it unnatural and I see it the same so I can not see allowing gays to marry. This is how I view this, you must have a license to operate a automobile, a license to be a doctor or nurse, a license to build a home, a license to own a business and ect. these are all privileges and the same applies to marriage and most people in this country do not see that gays should have this privilege and neither does God. As for all the above privileges and more gays are able to have them and be a productive part of our society.
Your right I could have chosen #2 but that doesn't tell everything I feel. Even though I would feel uncomfortable I would welcome gays into my church, not as members that would be against God's will, it is a right they all have just as it's my right, given to us by our constitution.

I did not say that I or God hates gays, it is the sexual act and thoughts of the heart that God condemns.

How about we just throw out the whole damn book and call it good?

So he doesn't hate gays, he's just going to send them to burn in eternal fire for acting the way he made them. Sounds like hate to me.

The verse is Leviticus 20:13 ...they must be put to death ... Killing someone is condemning them. You see, your god did indeed give you the right to condemn them.
That's not exactly what I was addressing though. I addressed YOUR views, not the Bible's per say. You still did not address (explain) any of the contradictions that you initially made. In fact, you have only bolstered those contradictions with this reply.
Do you understand? You can't have it both ways, and if you'll read my hidden remarks above, you seem to want it both ways. Either your god loves homosexuals and allows them into heaven or he hates them and condemns them to hell.
It would be a far more respectable action for you to just pick a side instead of all this contradictory rhetoric. "Gays should have all rights ... Gays shouldn't have the right to get married" You See??
on a side note: I find it interesting that none of the Muslims on our forum have cast a vote in the poll.
I kinda get it though ... It's gotta suck to be embarrassed of the bigotry your religion openly touts for other peoples.
It's difficult to sell god's love when the book He wrote tells you to kill gay people.
